I agree, i cant wait to choose from different characters to kick bowsers ass. Wario being one of them.
I love kirby also, i'm awaiting new info on what first game of his will be for the DS. Granted, i'm curious to know about tons of the new games. Super Mario Bros DS looks amazing, cant wait to play that.

Id just like to add, it seems to me that alot of people have come to the conclusion that death traps will occur in every fight, just because we have seen them occur in almost every fight. But obviously this isn't the case, if you're stupid enough to let yourself stand before a death trap and let the enemy beat you into it, you only have yourself to blame. Not only that, it looks like it will take a fair amount of movement and beating to get someone inbetween you and a death trap, not to mention navigation through multi-layered levels. I think you'll find that Death traps will be a rare commodity when we all get our hands on the game.
So chill out kiddies. For those who would like to see more realistic gore bits, such as intestines and beating hearts, I agree but too much of a shock value is likely to get the game banned. Which we really don't want.

AGREED 100%. So true.
The only problem I have with stage fatalities is how overexposed they're getting on the videos (duh, don't watch them jerkoff)... but I am not going to want to play in the Splatterhouse come October... Plus, the fatality looks a little too easy to pull off. I thought it looked kind of cool when Nightwolf's arrow sent someone into the grinder, but when characters are lined up so that a knockback has to turn the direction of the blow 90 degrees off dead center & they go flying in there....

Death Traps. No Death Traps. Continue to a new Round. Don't continue to a new round.
This will in NO WAY change my thoughts on if I am going to buy the game or not.
I already consider it bought.
October can't come soon enough.

I have no problem whatsoeva with the death traps. .however, i feel that they should only make the death traps functional in the second round, it just makes sense.
I want to go ahead and clear this up before I start talking about the Nintendo DS. I was at E3 and I spent extensive time with Deception. I talked to a few members of the development team that was there. One guy in particular, I don't remember his name, but he was asking me questions and looking for what the fans wanted. I told him I loved the game and every thing was shaping up nicely. I did however express my concern about the ring out system. How your opponent dies, then comes back the next round. From what he told me, it is my understanding there will be 3 options in the options menu: Death traps - On (Ends round), On (Ends match) and off. He explained to me how they know people will want a different experince and not every gamer is the same, so they will put those options in the game to please everryone. I gave him a big thumbs up for that. I also told him I hated the red "spark" when you hit guys certain times. He said that is something they are just experimenting with something called "impact points" or something. It's not anything final, just something they are experimenting with.
Now as for the Nintendo DS......absolutely amazing. That's all I had to say, I'm floored. PSP? PSP who? Fuck that. Sony did have some nice games. MGS 3, Gran Turismo 4, Devil May Cry 3, FFXII, Kingdom Hearts 2. Ok, alot of great games. Still, Nintendo blew me away with everything they had. The new Legend of Zelda...I swear, I had to change pants after seeing it. Other than that playing Metroid Prime 2 and Resident Evil 4 was pure gaming bliss. What I want to know what is the deal with Microsoft? Their big thing is online games from EA sports? Come on. Th eonly thing worth while was Halo 2, which I might add is great. They really had a lackluster showing to me at E3. Anyways, I'm rambling now so I'll stop. Later.

...I guess we should get back on topic. But didn't Kel-X already answer our question. There will be an option for it to end a round, end a match and be turned off.

Kel-X;
You are one hell of a beautiful human being... not only for passing that info along to us, but for mentioning your concerns to the developers in the first place.
THANKS!!!
Those stage fatals are comparable to ring outs in other fighting games. If I knock an adversay down a cliff in Soul Calibut II in Round 1 he/she will be back for round 2. I really don't see the problem. MK was never about realism anyway, which is only a good thing.
I really don't understand people that keep on bitching that the game isn't violent enough. MK always was cartoony, including MK 2 with Kitana's balloon fatality. Ultra realsitic violence is something we will never see for a coulpe of reasons. The guy below me is right. The game would be banned or censored in certain parts of the world (just like Ninja Gaiden and Manhunt) which would hurt Midway and many gamers. Secondly, it would be a real pain for the engine to render everything in detail which could hurt the game preformance-wise.
If you want ultra realistic violence for some reason, you can find lots of sick stuff on the Internet. Including an all too real decapitation video. Knock yourself out if you think that's cool.
