Stupid combos in Konquest...

This sucks I've had Deception nearly a week now, and I haven't unlocked one character. And it's because of this one combo on Konquest.
I'm stuck on the second training session(thats right the second one, in the first part of Earthrealm im still there!), it's this dumb pop-up combo. Backward+Triangle, Square, Square, Triangle. The other night I spent 3 hours straight, and I could never get it to connect.
Can anyone give me some tips on combos? sad

When you hit him in the air wait longer to do the rest of the combo. I'm guessing when you pop them in the air, you try doing the rest right as you do it, causing you to miss the first hit in the combo. I would guess like wait till the person is near the half way mark in the air.

do it against a wall, that always helps when i feel like i cant reach something. By the way, the only one ive unlocked is Kenshi and I think Im over halfway through konquest. I just want to complete Konquest and open most of the krypt before I go searching for keys. If I get too frustrated ill cheat and look on here for them.
