No, Sub-Zero is with the Lin Kuei clan. And they are all mostly ninja's. Just like Scorpion is, or used to be with the Shairi Ryu clan (Sp?), and they are ninja's.

Lin Kuei isn't what Sub-Zero is. It's the clan he's in.

Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke, etc, were all built by the Lin Kuei and they call them "cyber ninja's". Well, I forgot if Smoke was built by Lin Kuei. But i'm pretty sure he was.

yeah smoke is linkuei made, him and Subzero find out about them making robots, and refuse to do so, they try to escape but smoke is caught. it doesnt matter about the whole Ninja thingy, in mk1-4 he has the NinjaAvatars.

Anyway, I think maybe Sub could definitely use a few more moves (y'know, just so he's higher on the *urgh* tier list). Maybe he could have a move where he counters an attack with a freeze touch?

Also, make his original ice blast faster (like it was in early MK) just so it's not so damn predictable like in MK4. And instead of the ice shaker, have just an ice shield that radiates out from him (like it did in the movie, but at a smaller magnitude).

Something else confused me. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but...he's a Chinese ninja, right? So why does he use a Japanese style?

How about getting two sub zeros. I mean the elder brother has been out for a long long time. I want him back. The only weapon I can think for him is a frozen sword like the Frostmourne because he had a very close enemy named Scorpion remember.

His hair is the least of my worries. They should concentrate on making him look a little less ugly.

I'll clear this Lin Kuei thing up. Lin Kuei are Chinese equivalent to Ninjas. In the MK storyline, it was said that a long time ago, there was a Japanese-born Lin Kuei warrior named Takeda (they got that name from the founder of Daito-Ryu Aiki-Jitsu (a form of Jujitsu) whose name was Sokaku Takeda; Scorpion's Hapkido style incorporates some of the Daito-Ryu techniques).

Anyway, Takeda left the Lin Kuei and he used some of the Lin Kuei techniques (while probably combining them with other fighting style techniques in stealth) to create Ninjitsu, the art of stealth. He also founded the Shirai Ryu ninja clan (I suppose they put his first name as Shirai since Shirai Ryu means Shirai's school).

So to sum it all up, the Ninja costumes in the Shirai Ryu are based on the costumes of the Lin Kuei warriors. (and I'm talking about in terms of the MK storyline)

That's why in MKM: SZ that Sub-Zero doesn't refer to himself as a ninja since being a ninja would mean that he would be part of a ninja clan and would use a form of Ninjitsu. And there's also the fact that the Lin Kuei and the Shirai Ryu are enemies of each other.

i think getting the Dragon Medallion is responsible for him looking older. Like when moses went up on the mountain to speak with God, he aged severely. Now that sub's powers are amplified, his hair is frozen(not gray) and he probably looks older because acquiring it took so much out of him.

I think they should get rid of the Mortal Kombat 3 outfit. his secondary one should be same as the Ninja outfit, but with no mask on, just his bare head, that'd be pretty cool

Yes. We were told by one of the people who worked on/tested MKDA that the Dragon Medallion takes away Sub-Zero's youth. In exchange for his youth, Sub-Zero became more powerful and so did his freezing powers.

Gee, his ice really didn't seem to be that powerful in DA to me. His ice blast shouldn't take that long. It should be quicker like in the first three MK's, so it's not as easy to spot. Plus, (I don't know how many times I've said this) but they should ditch the ice shaker, and make it just a standing ice shield that radiates out from him, so it looks cooler that way.

Just because in the game Sub-Zero's ice powers aren't that powerful and quick in MKDA doesn't mean that his ice powers didn't become stronger in the storyline. Sub-Zero's freeze gives him an advantage and I suppose the programmers didn't want Sub-Zero's Freeze and Ice Shaker to be too powerful otherwise he'll be a cheap character in terms of gameplay.

Well, I at least want him higher on the tier list!
