I think they forgot or it could be the possibility that while doing the concept art, they had a hard time realizing the decision they made putting these characters from completely different universes together.

Golly gosh gee whilikers, guys! You don't suppose it, oh, I dunno, HEALED, do ya?

Nahhh...that's impossible! >_>

Actually, a scar by definition is a PERMANENT mark left after a laceration. So yeah, any natural cause is out of court from square one.

If you're implying the scar healed mystically via the medallion, then I request evidence on your part. That isn't stated anywhere in the story, nor is it even plausible since Subzero DID have the scar in the early renders of MKD viewed in the a British gaming magazine (You'll have to ask Bishop for the name). Why they dropped it for the final product, I don't know.

But if they forgot, then I am thoroughly disgusted. If they meant to imply that it healed, then why not say that explicitly in his bio like a good story writers? Or even more so, why remove an iconic trait from a character for such a petty reason? Lack of development is bad, but reverse development is worse.

I know scars are permanent by definition, and I am indeed implying mystical healing as a result of either the Medallion or the Cryomancer Armor.

I have no proof, it's just a theory. I base my assumption only on the fact that the scar turned blue in Deadly Alliance, which I think we can all agree is not normal behavior for scar tissue, and I sincerely doubt it's a coincidence that it changed color at the exact same time that the medallion altered other major details of his appearance, like his physical age.

I'm with TUN. Not good enough!
You've got ten days to produce IRREFUTABLE proof that scars can be healed by mystic means or else you're banned!!! :chameleoncrazyeyes:

Can't argue with that. Although color change may be for artistic purposes (EX: his 10+ inch pony tail; unless that's also medallion-related). It's not a problematic theory, but I just don't think it goes very far. There are just too many possible inferences. The color change could have been a style choice based on MKDA look; the aura from medallion may have altered his skin coloration (far-fetched, but that doesn't rule it out).

And why is the scar in MKA? Laziness? But if we're going with that route, why would laziness be any less plausible for it's absence in MKD? I see where you coming from, and the theory has some punch, but it doesn't go far enough, IMO.

Mystic methods heal scars, silly. The question is whether Vogel intended that sometime between writing the story and licking acid stamps.

It's like I said in the other thread really...

There's a few different possibilities that NOBODY here knows yet, no fans, insiders etc...other then Midway since we only have "that one pic" speaking of which isn't even a front shot, but a side shot

A few things to consider or are very possible:

1.Who's to say it's not on his other eye? it's only one side of his face

2.Some people are assuming it's the "older sub" why say that and with what evidence exactly? Boon even said this will take place post MKA, they'll explain the events post MKA which cause MK8's merge with DC...which we don't know yet

3.It's most likely the current sub, with the scar.....there's a few possibilities. A.The events of MKA healed him, thus no more scar. B. His medallion could have healed it or C.POSSIBLY not the current Sub-Zero we all know with the scar but doubtful....

We don't know anything for sure yet, obviously but I'm sure soon or at least near release if not sooner with (E3, etc, previews, more bios possibly etc) we'll find out. Personally, I'm betting it's the current Sub with the scar. It's only one concept, canon render and like I said one side of his face.

About Me

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

"What's next? Scorpion with no spear?"

Jack Burton begs of you...DON'T GIVE THEM ANY IDEAS!!!

And that's what Jack Burton has to say at this time.

lol, I can't believe people are flipping out about this scar...and Scorpion WILL have his spear, boon's already said it that the characters will have their signature moves.

Ahhh, only MKO would go nutty over something so trivial

Ahh Jeez. Either they forgot to put it in or they just didn't bother with it in the previews. It could be there in the game. Did you really look for it in the Deception or Armaggedon preview to see which subby it was?
So probably they just forgot or didn't care. wink
