If you look in the MK vs DC render you'll see that Sub-Zero has no scar. What does this mean?

Well here is what I think:

a) Midway simply forgot to add his scar.

b) They are using the old Sub-Zero who turned into Noob after he was killed in MKII, which means this game takes place between MK and MKII.

c) Sub-Zero died during MK: Armageddon and new one has taken his place.

or

d) This game is simply non-canon.

Opinions?

I think it's either A or D

Somebody said that in the video you can see Sub's scar they probably just forgot to add the scar in the render plus the scar may have faded like it did for deception

That their just throwing characters in there without any thought and calling it a game.

You know what, don't have a story and let everyone make it up while their playing it.

Superman died in MKA for me anyway cause I made him as a character in the KAF mode and a story and ending.I'm just saying so whatever new superman story they make I won't like anyway cause it wont be canon to mine ......I know what your thinking,I am losing my mind and well I probably am.

There was always the potential for Armageddon's ending to begin the cycle anew. I can't say I honestly expect, or want it, but it would be interesting if this was indeed the first Sub-Zero and there were actual circumstances to explain it...

... Yeah. Let's hope not. tongue

Does it really matter? i mean this is mks vs dc.... sub-zero's scar is the lest of your worries........ no one wants this game to be apart of the real story anyways, so lets hope this is just them throwing out some mk characters that everyone knows.

His medallion is also not their so their you go its not the GOOD old subby its probably a knew recruit from the lin kuei or may be his brother. BTW boon already stated that this is mk8 and also I would like to see the bad sub his brother come back itll be very cool to see him as a bad guy for once, it would also explain him fighting batman I mean just think about it its debut trailer why would they put to good guys fighting each other????? This new sub also looks cool so it couldnt be the one weve been seeing in the last 3 games. Also if you remeber in shaloin monks before you fight scorpion sub zero is looking for noob his brother and says that he is going to find a way to bring him back may be he did after all theses years since MK2.

If you look more closely to the scar of sub-zero, you see the scar is to the rigth of sub-zero ok? But in MKD, sub-zero still have his scar but this time the scar is at the left and it is white that make it difficult to see it . Just check it.

It's funny that you really believe that.

This is the actual concept art for that costume. (cropped to fit the post, mind you, but otherwise completely un-tampered with)

I've also got the action figure for MKD Subbie and it doesn't have a scar either.

So tell me another story.

What if Noob's MKA ending was canon and he and Sub-Zero merged.

We don't even know if the game is canon yet!! But if it continues from Armageddon I think that, it could be Noob and Subby merged.

Yeah, Noob as Elder Brother's Sub-Zero was a great idea, but a "Noob Zero" idea will be bad. Noob is Noob, and Sub-Zero is Sub-Zero... if they want to revise the "Sub-Zero turning Noob" concept, will be better a restarted universe, when Sub-Zero doesn't die psychically but his soul (became a "shadow" of himself, and been called now Noob...), and his young brother trying to "revive" him...

The issue of Sub-Zero having a scar is a pretty old issue that's been going on since MK: Deception.

Some reason that the scar faded with age, or due to the Dragon Medallion's powers, while others simply state that Midway forgot to give him his scar (like they did, and corrected, in MK4.) The fact that his MK:A version has both his scarred and unscarred versions only muddles the matter.

Personally, I prefer Sub-Zero WITH his scar. The scar is a very striking part of him that, while intended to seperate him from his brother, also seperates him from the other generic looking ninjas. It was a visually appealing part of his design, and it was regrettable that the idea was abandoned in MK:Deception.

In the context of this game, this could mean a few things.
1. This game takes place prior to MK3, before Sub-Zero ever got his scar.
2. This game takes place around the MK1 era with the eldest Sub-Zero
3. This game takes place sometime after MK:D after the scar disappeared
4. This game is completely non-canon and thus the scar has no bearings

I'm hoping for "4", personally.
At least now he has a mole! hahaha

I just think that the creators need to stop playing around with the damn scar and decide whether to keep it or not. Becuase it's really stupid to have it show in two games that we know the younger Sub-Zero is in, yet as we go further in the series, it mysteriously appears then goes away then appears again...

EITHER STICK WITH IT OR DITCH THE DAMN IDEA!... duh! tongue
