I don't think Boon would be that foolish although I've been wrong about that before. Sub would lose crazy, silly old school fans (starting with me). A new sub just wouldn't be Sub anymore. He's been around for over 10 years now. It's not like when his brother died.

It would be like killing Scorp off and saying that a new Ninja called Scorpion has taken his place, and that he's another vengeful soul from his clan with the same hell based powers. Scorpion has now passed on the mantle of the "Spectre of Vengeance"!!! How f*cking lame would that be? It just wouldn't be the same and would only serve to water down the chracter into a cheap two dollar whore.

Sub-Zero wouldn't be Sub-Zero, and Scorpion wouldn't be Scorpion.

True, whats the story behind the Sub Zero of MKI and MKII? i never understood that...

the medallion thing is a cool story aspect, i just hope Sub doesnt age too much, and start to look like Shang Tsung from MKI...in future installments, the story will probably somehow show sub zero overcoming the power of the medallion and returning to his proper age.

Serpah, it is a fact from inside sources that Sub-Zero is aging because of the medallion. It sacrified his youth for power. RayRokka stated this months upon months ago.

Sub's storyline is awesome, and I don't have a problem with the whole dragon medallion angle either. It just makes him more unique and badass when compared to all the other chars..including overrated as hell Scorpion.

I know he's aging at a rapid rate, but, the power he has won't mean squat if he's too frail in the future to use it. Somehow, I hope beyond hope, that he'll get his youth back. He's really one of the younger kombatants, but he's starting to make Rayden appear young. Either he should reach god-hood or give up the medallion or absorb it's powers somehow. The scarred, younger brother Sub-Zero is too popular, too vital to the series' future, to be reduced to a fragile old man. If nothing else... have him dye his hair black again. Fatality.

Nah, what makes him unique is all the adversity he faced and overcame leading up to obtaining the DM. Him getting old makes no sense. I understand what there trying to do in the storyline but it's cleche' and not needed. It's overkill. Like I stated above, you may think it's great but I will put money on the vast majority of old school Sub-Zero fans agreeing with me on this.

That said, I'm looking foward to see how it all plays out in MK:D.

I don't know if anyone has mention this before but doesn't Sub Zero look like Shredeer from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Just a thought.

1. subzero will die of old age and the classic subzero from mk1 (who is actually the younger subzero now) will take his place.

2. DK will steal the medallion and sub gets his young age back.

3. the most likle one to me is this one:

subzero turns evil and joins the DA to get subzero younger again with souls, then sub will either stay evil or decieve the DA after he gets his youth back.

I like the idea of subzero evolving into a god. He's probably the most powerful MK character and deserves an ascension.

I don't think so. He's getting OLDER by the GAME, almost like 20 years per game. At this rate, he'll be a walking skeleton by MK8. I like the god theory. Fatality.

Eh!?!?! Why most likely? I think subzero purged himself of the Lin Kuei's greed a long time ago. Although this is a possiblity, I can't see it happening. So again, why so likely?

Anyway, I think we can all agree that Sub becoming god-like is the best course of action. I'm all for it.

BTW judging from the subzero's attitude in the konquest trailer, i htink that is the classic subzero, he also has the classic look and doesnt have a scar.

It's been confirmed that it's the new Sub-Zero and he does have the scar. They just didn't put it on the render. Fatality.

I've already tried to ask for that pic of Sub Zero with the scar but no one knows anything about it... I mean for months I've been trying. I hear he is wearing the same helmet as one in MKM (older Sub Zero) which makes sense why he has such long hair. BTW everyone, he is BALD, not just with his hair pulled tight. And he has no pupils, humans = pupils... specres = no pupils.

This is just my opinion until i see the "scar" pic!!!

I agree with the majority of the people around here. With Raiden's possible death, I see it very likely for him to turn over control to Sub-Zero (possibly in his ending) and elevate him to god status or something.

i hate the new subzero look. i really like the idea of him becoming a god.

i remember way back when, we were posting our ideas for character endings for mk:da. i posted the idea that when u beat the game with subzero, raiden dubs subzero the god of ice (elemental)- and everyone flamed my idea. but now i think everyone sees the light.... YESSSSSSS.
