MK makers said there will be a beach, kinda like VF4. Do you think that while there is a fight, you are inclined to see flooding at youre boots and stuff? Tell me what you think about that.

I'd like to see characters splashing water and throwing sand into each others eyes to blind them. I'd also like to see footprints in the sand and the opponents covered in sand and getting wet during the battle.

A beach seems like a great battle ground, as long as they give it the right looks, feel, and touch. I dont want to see a beach thats on a nice sunny day, with carribean style music, and people having fun, playing volley ball and such. I want the atmosphere to be dark and creepy. Perhaps the sun could be setting down on the beach, giving it a more "daytime" look. The waves should be harsh, and maybe if one hits you, it causes damage.
This also reminds me of a death trap. If you wonder off a certain point, or beyond a line, you DROWND!

The beach could be on the edge of a village filled with canninbals. It would looke like the beach from DOA3 but in the background you would see people in cages and pikes with people on them. If the time of day chaged from evening to night during the fight the canninbals could set the place around you on fire. So you fight in a flaming ring.It could have a creepy yet fast paced tecno konga drum music.Maybe there could be a Great White swimming near the shore as a death trap. Personaly I'd like to throw a guy throw a palm tree and beat him over the head with a cocao nut.

The beach stage is actually the ying yang one they have been talking bout.....where you are on a nice secluded beach then it turns into a dark wasteland or something around that nature over a period of time..this sounnds like the best board 2 me.....

That would remind me too much of X-Men next dimension. They had a pool arena were every body wore a swim suit as a default outfit.

I like that idea. I'm sure the beach will have the classic dark MK feel to it. Hopefully something along those lines.

I am telling you this board is going to be great since it has the ying/yang,good/bad part to it.....I mean a board the changes itself during play is a great idea........I will love it

The Beach needs a dark feel in my oppinion, but Midways said it would have both a good and dark feel to it (like a ying-yang). It sounds interesting to me, I just hope it stays true to MK.

If I remember correctly, didn't they say that the 'Ying Yang' stage, witht he 2 changing sides of good and evil as you fight, would be the beach stage? In any case, these are really good ideas.

Your palm tree idea is sick. I can see it now, kicking my opponent into the tree, and coconuts falling ontop of there head. Granted to this, you should be able to pick up the coconuts and toss them at your opponent.
Tgrant, i also like your idea on footprints being left on the sand and such. You should be able to kick sand at your opponents face to.
The water part that i stated above, was just the "water" section of the beach, and i hope you can interact with it. I kind of see things like this:
On the first part of the beach, your on the normal looking really light sand. You can bump into palm trees, large rocks, little picknick tables, etc. Also, at this part, you can kick or toss sand at your opponents face.
The next part of the beach would be the part where the sand looks more darker brown, as if water comes through it a bit. At this part, the waves could go off and onto the beach, to make it look more real and cool. There could be some weapons hidden under the sand, and perhaps crabs could be walking around that bite you once in a while. IMO, i think this should be the part that you leave footprints when you walk on it. Afterall, its the damp section.
The last section, of course, would be going into the water and fighting. You could splash, kick water at the opponents face, find rusty weapons in the water, ETC. There could also be swirling whirlpools that go around, and if you hit it, it causes some damage on you by pulling you into the water for a bit, or spin you around. Also, when the blood of your opponent goes into the water, the water can slowly start to get a bit on the red side. The more blood that goes into it, the more red it starts to look. Also, it would be cool to slowly see the blood dissolve when it hits the water.
Anyway, the further you go into the water, the deeper it gets. If you keep going into the deeper end, your moves start to go slower like slow-mo. When you go even further, and the water is above your head, you should slowly start to lose life. The longer your head is under the water, the more life you slowly lose. And finally, if you go way off, the death trap is drownding, or gettin eaten by a shark or crocodile. BTW, there could be a line that shoes the deep part, but it shouldnt tell you where the "deep water death trap is". It would make it more harder and cooler, as if your just wondering off the line, not knowing when you will just all of a sudden totally sink into your demise.
Apart from this, there should also be another death trap thats located near the light sand section. If you dont want to go in the water, you can wonder off from the sand. There could be a huge waterfall. If you go under it, you lose a large dose of life. Granted to this, there should be a part connected to the waterfall that you could climb on. Lets say its a bunch of huge boulders connected to each other, slowly going upwards. You would fight, and eventually make it to the top of the waterfall. This is where its risky, because if you get thrown off into the waterfall from ABOVE, thats when you die automatically.
All this can change to. Because of the whole "scenery changing" ying yang thing, perhaps at one point the whole beach scene could be bright, but still looking like dawn. You would see birds flying, the sun setting, and a calm breeze blowing. Then she scene changes, and theres a huge storm with lightning flashing. The rain is pooring heavily, the clouds are dark, its night out, the sand is getting pushed by the tough wind, the waves are huge and crashing with each other.
Meh, thats just the way i see it.
