umm.. i don't remember mk:da having that... and well this is just the e3 char select screen.. mk:da had a similar look at the e3 preview as well.. so its not staying..

well it's not something that really bothered me but now i think about it it was a good idea, it added a touch of realism in the weird fantasy world that is mortal kombat, i hope they are brought back, i especially like the idea of their allignment status, good, evil or neutral.

MK:DA did have that. At the select screen when you highlight the character it shows it on the side.

But yeah it is only E3 and that isn't the final select screen(thank God) so they will probably add that in later.

Hopefully, I'm curious to see how tall Baraka is

I believe that the character profiles were excluded for the E3 show because they don't want to reveal too much information of the story to the public yet.

I am glad that it was not showed yet because it make s the comfirmed characters look mysterious. I would prefer to wait untill the game comes out to see what each character's profile would be.

i think that they wont add the player profiles because there is not enough room for the profiles on the screen

It was only the E3 build which is as cartmansp said is only 20% of the way through development. We've got a long wait yet.
Also, the team wouldn't want the story to be let out or have all of the stories finished.
