The mk4 story line didn't make much sense at times. In MK2 and 3 its stated that Scorpion vows to protect Sub-Zero because he realized it wasn't the same SZ that murdered his clan and family. Then in MK4 he decides to hunt him down again... weird..

Lets look at Sub Zero and Scorpions story's since you think I am mistaken.

MK1
Sub Zero is hired by someone to assassinate Shang Tsung
Scorpion joins the tournament for the purpose of vengeance for his death the death of his family and the death of his clan at the hands of Sub Zero

MK2
Sub Zero goes to outworld to apparently attempt another assassination of Shang Tsung
Scorpion thought he had killed Sub Zero in the first tounament but since SZ seems to be alive he will again attempt to kill him for the same reason as the first mk. Scoprions ending states that he witnessed SZ spare the life of an opponent and realized it wasnt the same SZ that murdered him so long ago. He vows to protect the ninja as retribution for murdering the original Sub Zero.

MK3
Scorpion is working with Shao Kahn but when he finds out that one of the earth realm defenders is Sub Zero he turns on Shao Kahn. Because he vowed to protect him.

MK4
For some reason the story line seems to revert back to MK2. Scorpion is again after Sub-Zero for killing his family clan. There is no explanation as to why this happens.

I was wondering about this back when MK4 came out but I figured they just ditched the storyline because they wanted to have as much Sub vs Scorp because its just a big catch for the MK fans. This was a real let down for me just cause I liked the storyline they built around their characters in the other games.

Quan Chi told Scorpion that young Sub-Zero killed his family and clan, though I wonder how, since Sub-Zero 6 was either not born or a wee child. Then Quan Chi reveals himself to be the killer after Scorpion plants a can of whup-a** on Sub-Zero, then, in DA, Scorpion is planting cans of whup-a** on Quan Chi.

Scorpion already thought Sub Zero was the murderer.. hense why he killed him in MK1. As for this sub-zero 6th stuff. There has only been 2 Sub-Zero's. Classic Sub-Zero from mk1 and the other one with the scar on his face.

I dunno, but I was always under the impression (due to discrepencies) that MK4 takes place before one or more of the other MKs ... kind of like a prequel. Dunno, I think I either read that somewhere or came up with this shit myself a while ago. Oh well.

Nah cuz it tells how jhonny cage was revived and how jax has his metal arms and sonya had already killed (supposedly) kano.
