nah, i converted it perfectly fine with sound. just use flaskmpeg, works perfect. I'm not gonna be one of those guys "I have info and you don't" but ive done many conversions before, just use flaskmpeg. It works for all the german vids that nothing else will play. converts to mpeg or small 5mb or so avi, I suggest you get the divx codec from www.divx.com and use that when encoding with flask into avi for best results. Or, if anyone wants me to send them the video I can do that over any IM service just pm me your info, already helped one guy out. Enjoy!

WinAmp plays the sound, but not the video, so perhaps you could just rip the sound from WinAmp and then synchronize it with the sound from VLC.

Cool, thats surprising it did that, you could also try tmpgenc, thats another good one, i just used flask cause it was fast and simple. I suggest tmpgenc also

Ya, I have TMPGEnc too and use it alot...but the only program that even recognizes the sound in the video is VLC...and I can't capture video from that program.

Ahh, well I hadn't tried Tmpegenc on the German videos, but like I said, Flaskmpeg worked perfect for me, plays sound and video separately, you can conver the sound and video separately or do them at the same time. Works perfect for me for video and sound, so I'll continue to use it since it works so well, at least for these German specific videos.

Or, or if you just have all the right codecs you dont have reencode shit. Just download it and it plays right away. I use tmpgenc and a few others that were mentioned for editing but there is NO need to use them on video playback if you have all the right codecs.

I have TONS of codecs...obviously not the one needed for this video to play sound in. I can't find which codec VLC uses, and why other programs don't recognize it and use it as well...
