you're right in everything,i just say my point of view and what i've understand.
this time i misunderstood legacy.
i apologize.
but aboput the storyline thing...wait and see how much Vogel and the rest of his team(if Vogel have a suport team specifically fro storyline,i don't know).
Maybe Vogel don't choose alone, but he have this power, tough is NOT a absolute power as i stated!
Yeah is hard to believe, but Vogel can do everything he want, but the only condition is that "thing" must be sensed.
ohhh...i forgot to talk about Sonya, she's my favourite female character and my second character after Cage(the difference is minimal)...i can say that Sonya is almost draw with Cage.
I don't like this bio we don't know anything new about the stroyline and with a lot of probabily Jax will return in cyborg form.

NO! Vogel can't do everything he wants. That's just erroneous.
For example, the decision to have (almost) all of the characters, was NOT his to make, and he wasn't fond of it. But guess what? He and the other storywriters have and are still trying to make the story work. He wasn't fond of the decision to not have bios in the game, but thanks to him and the other storywriters, they've been making bios to post online.

Even though Rain was pretty much a joke character and yet another ninja, I always thought he had some potential. I think his being the third son of Argus was a nice twist. Going into Armageddon, everyone was speculating that Rain would be tied in the story mainly to Kitana or Tanya or Shao Kahn. So having him related to Taven and Daegon was a nice surprise.
I'm disappointed his bio makes no mention of what happened to him at the end of MK3 and since. Did any part of his ending happen at all? Did Kitana turn him against Kahn? Was there an attempted suicide mission? Where's he been all this time? Or did no part of his ending happen and he's bee serving Kahn all along?
I guess that'll just have to remain fan speculation.
I've always liked the idea of Rain having some kind of crush on Kitana. Now since Rain is evil and currently running around claiming he's a Prince of Edenia, I'm even more into the idea. Like suppose he runs into Kitana and starts telling her they should rule Edenia together now that he knows he's a Prince. I don't see Kitana being so eager to go along for the ride.
I don't know what to think about Rain as far as the next generation goes. Finding out he's Argus' son is a worth-while twist that can go places with Taven, Kitana, and others. Not even just that, but Sareena still hasn't learned who Noob Saibot really is and Jax seems to be about to turn evil, which can lead to more happening with Sonya.
More and more it's becoming clear that Armageddon probably won't be the "end of this era" after all.

I've always considered myself a fan of all the MK ninjas (male and female, with the possible exception of Chameleon; I mean seriously what IS his bio gonna be?), and Rain is no exception. I've long maintained him as an underrated MK3 era character. That said, I'm also disappointed to see his bio not only noticeably short, but not shedding any light on the status of his MKT ending. It could honestly go either way, though I'd personally prefer it to be considered having occurred.
Also I agree on his MKA ending being a diamond in the rough. MKA had such a large (and uncharacteristically for the series) volume of crappy endings, that the few truly good ones tended to not get their share of credit. Rain's was certainly one of those illustrious few, and it's nice to see the cool twist in it elaborated upon further here in his bio.
Pretty much exactly what I was getting at in one of my most recent posts: Armageddon's story (taking the bios into account natch) works fine as merely "another installment in the series", rather than as this big grand finale that Boon and Midway were hyping it to be. Ignore the hype machine, and it's really par for the course in this series, minus the large amount of useless endings and the bios not being in the actual game. But better late than never I guess. At best it could potentially go down as more of a turning point than an ending.

Rain's bio surprised me positively. I've always liked him, maybe simply because he looks good, controls the weather and comes from Edenia, I don't know.
I do hope that he turns out to be good because too many characters are/become evil imo. Someone said that Jax seems to become evil, that would be yet another evil character...
Anyway some interesting points are mentioned, about the whole kitana/taven/rain triangle of ruling Edenia. I'm not sure if Kitana actually wants to rule Edenia, not like Shao Kahn, Tanya, the Dragon King, Rain etc wanted to be rulers. I think she can live with having another ruler on the throne as long as he/she is good and does what's best for Edenia. In the past, she also accepted Shao Kahn as a ruler and we never heard about any intentions from her side to kick him off his throne (at least not before finding out what he had done) I also think that the same thing goes for someone like Taven. So I don't think that Taven and Kitana will get into an argument or feud about who needs to be ruler of Edenia....With Rain, things are different, especially if he remains evil and full of hate towards his father (and towards his brothers).
Rain having a crush on Kitana would be funny but I don't see what strong points it could add to the storyline. It would go something like this: Rain wanting Kitana, Kitana not wanting Rain, Rain developing a strong hate towards Kitana and a new feud is born. Or him blackmailing her etc...
Now, I've always been a huge fan of Kitana & Liu Kang getting together but after so many games of MK, it still hasn't progressed in any way. If Liu Kang remains to be so stubborn wanting to be the protector of Earth realm and not joining Kitana in Edenia, I might even perhaps maybe become a huge supporter of seeing Kitana and Taven together....That would be a strong alliance.....Hmm I'm not sure if I really mean that but there's so little romance in the MK series, despite all those gorgeous women and the little romance there is, doesn't progress in any way! I want loooooove!!!

I got the same complaints as you guys - I'm disappointed they didn't elaborate on Rain's absence; what he's been up to since MKT. Or confirm or deny if parts of his ending in MKT happened and stuff.
But I see Rain as corrupted innocence. He's an Edenian, supposed to be good, but got caught up with Shao Kahn. And in MY speculation - I think his MKT ending did happen - only he didn't die, he went back to Edenia with Kitana, Sindel, etc. However his time with Shao Kahn messed him up so much that though he broke away from him - he still carried greed in his heart. He still retained all the evil that he learned.
I also like the idea that Rain likes Kitana, and I believe his relationship with her parallels Kahn's obsession with Sindel (like mother, like daughter). So I also believe that he'd want Kitana spared in the end. Kind of like an Anakin/Padme thing in ROTS where Anakin tells her to stick with him and he could kill the emperor and they'll rule the world together. Something like that.
So he's discovered that he's the son of Argus - Quan Chi brought that up to him to use him. I wish they would've elaborated further on his hunt for Taven and Daegon....and how he came to get to the pyramid. And since Shinnok's pretty clear on how he's helping DAEGON - even though Quan Chi is saying they'll help Rain get to Blaze - I can see some fireworks; dissentry in the ranks and all.

I waited all this time for Rain's bio, and we got that?!
WTF?!
It seems to be their plan to give Rain as little story as possible. Why?
I swear he had a longer bio in MKT...
Things we learn about Rain:
- He's the son of a god(I already knew that, it was my idea), and Taven/Daegon are his half brothers.
- He's evil... still...
- Oh! He works with Quan Chi now, instead of Kahn... wow... yet another of Kahn's minions desert him...
I for one, am disappointed.

some of you are so damn hard to please....Rain looks awesome in MKA, Rain has a cool storyline in MKA....He's the son of a god, what more do you want???Finally he's getting somewhere...I'd be thrilled with such a storyline for my favourite character...So much better than, let's say, Baraka's so far
