No idea but looking at the sketch it looks much more like a combination of Shao Kahn and Darkseid than the other pictures we've seen.

I think he looks like a mix of doomsday and blaze.

THATS what it is!!! DoomsDay and Blaze. That's who I thought it was when I first saw it. I think that they should have gone a more humanoid route with a sharper look and more collected and evil instead of all energy and dark light.

No, He looks like Darkseid did when he was being revived/ falling to earth in Final Crisis. Really, Darkseid skin is pretty much stone so it makes sense Dark-Kahn's would be too. If anything they made him more Darkseid than Kahn but at least they didn't go the cheap way and just have Darkseid in Kahn's clothing or something like that.

I'd be willing to guess that example is probably pretty coincidental, as much fun as it is to imagine a situation where the plot actually ties in to significant events (ie; a pitstop during Darkseid's vulnerable descent) -- but aside from the burning new god look, what's really inherent to Darkseid?

He's a biggish, bulky sort of figure, but of the distinguishing features in the merged version... The only specific detail I can really see is Shao Kahn's mask as a skullish face. Everything else is pretty obscure and vague!

No, it looks nothing like Doomsday at all. Darkseid's has a rocky/stone skin thus why Dark-Kahn has skin like that. As for the energy, this is the merger of one Outworlds most powerful beings with a god.Plus, Darkseid holds the Omega force inside his body so it's not surprising that combined with Kahn's powers it would radiate from Dark-Kahn's body.
