Since Liu Kang is dead and he is the champion of Mortal Kombat, how will Mortal Kombat be represented ? Will Liu Kang be revived by the gods? Will they hand the title down to another fighter? How will this work?

That's a good question. They will probably have to have someone take his place. Maybe Kung Lao would finally be able to do so.

Hmm...you have an interesting point. Since MKDA wasn't an official Mortal Kombat tournament, Liu Kang's demise means there is no MK champion. Perhaps the MK6 plot will involve a new official MK tournament to determine the new champion (although it's almost certain to be Kung Lao anyway). If there's a new tournament, I suspect it won't be hosted by the Dragon King, but more likely the DK will interrupt the tourney with his invasion.

I feel only 2 diff. people could replace Liu. Either Sub-Zero (He needs sumthing to revive him from his terrable Mythologies and his aweful apearance in Deadly Alliance) If not him then Chow Kang should avenge his older Brother's Death.

Could you imagine if Shao Kahn became the new Mortal Kombat Champion?

I hope it’s not Kung Lao. It would be the same thing as Liu Kang! I mean, we need a new champion that is actually someone unpredictable!

Nitara is my favorite character but there is no way I would like her to be the next champion. It just wouldn’t be right. It has to be someone of the main heroes, like Johnny Cage for example, but please, not someone like Kung Lao.

It would be like seeing Liu Kang win again.

BTW, has anyone noticed that Sonya Blade has gotten some of Liu Kang’s moves? Like, she had the bicycle kicks, which were similar (but much better) to Liu’s kicks? Also, she has the Fly kick in MKDA, just like Kang in all the other games.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she became the next champion. To me, she seems to be the most important warrior after Liu Kang.

Her appearances in each game have gotten better and better, and she has proven to be a very powerful part in the team of warriors against Kahn. She has been around ever since mk1! It would be nice to see Sonya win.

I could picture shang tsung as the next champion. Since he was originally from earth, and since he killed Liu kang I could see raiden screwing him over. Telling him he is the new champion. Nice twists in the story never hurt.

I think your right this won't be decieded until the next tourny, but someone has to challenge Earth first, mabe the DK or Kahn or whoever will.

I think there is only one person left that could pick up the title of MK Champion. That person is *nice drum roll begins* SUB-ZERO. Why you ask. Well it's very simple: he is the only truely good bad ass fighter left. Think about it he has come to a point where Rayden really truts him, he is a pure good guy, and he has the skills, abilities, and wisdom needed to cary such a burden.

Kung Lao no doubt will be the MK champion! I'd like to see him follow in his ancestor's footsteps.

I think Kung Lao would be boring, too predictable!!!

But SUB-ZERO??? I think that would be terrible!!!! I just don’t see Sub as the champion. It’s just not right. I hope this never happens.

Unrealisticly I hope the winner is Frost since she is my fav. Realisticly I think it will be Kung lao. I think kung Lao is next since he studied the same marshal arts that Liu kang has.The next down the line is Sub-zero.I think Sub-zero might win since he has become more powerful due to the thing that he has now. 3rd choice I have choosen is Kenshi. His storyline seems like he might win the MK: DA . I really dont know I just have a funny feeling about him.

Don't be flibbertigibbets you guys... Ermac will reign once again and come back, taking the title. OK, realistically? Molach; seeing as how I can't even beat him on Novice.

i dont think sub zero will win, his story does not revolve about being the champion of mortal kombat, his story will go another direction...

kung lao, mabye but maybe thats what the MK team wants us to think...

bad guy? possibly for a change of story...

Yeah, if a bad guy wins, that will be the end of Earthrealm, which would make a good plot twist. See how the Earthrealmers could deal...

I'd love to see Sub Zero as the new champion. IMO his ending where he is thanked by Raiden suggests that he will have a big part in the future of MK.

I thing the champion is determined only at the tournament and the tournament is suppose to take place only once a generation. (How they define a generation I have no idea) Remember, Liu Kane was not the champion until he won in MK1. He was only one of a group of human fighters chosen to be in the tournament. Others: Sonia Blade, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Kano (I'm not sure if I should include Rayden in this list, he was in mortal form at the time.confused ) The 2nd tournament shouldn't have taken place but the Emperor found a loop hole in the rules.

Anyway, back to the topic.... I don't believe there will be another tournament. Unless the Emperor is faking his death again or the Dragon King wants to play by the rules. No tournament-no champion. If this is the case any/all of the 'chosen' will need to fight to protect Earthrealm. If this is not the case and there is another tournament, I would like to see one of the originals as the new champion (see list above) but more than likely it will be an entirely new character we have yet to see.

No need to be rude dude. You might be the one who is WRONG and makes a fool of himself.

10 victories for a OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT!

Since Mk2 there has been no official tournament. So what Legacy says could happen.
