Honestly, the reason people hate the Yankees are because they simply envy them...26 championships more then any other team out of the four major sports, the most successful franchise..that's why they're hated.

Part of the reason I hate the Yanks is because they win all the f'ing time, which they SHOULD. They should NEVER NOT win a World Series. But that's not the entire reason.

Allow me to lay down a few facts from the past few years on ya.

As a Yankee fan, I'm not too fond of the Mets, yet I don't "hate" them like Met fans hate the Yankees..however I will say that that division is garbage...why? here....

5 games up the Mets that's the most of a lead they've had on the Braves, yet the Braves can't capatalize on a 5 game deficit? pffttt that was early on so you say ok, rest of the season left. Now we are at 2 games right?

Now it's been what a game and a half, 2 games the past few weeks? Come on...the Yankees cut down their's from 14 to 8 from boston within the past 2 months, and now 4 and half out in wild card from 9 games...if 2 games is given the Braves a hard time then I'd say they would have to beat the Mets, not the other way around......

Now, I'm not rooting for the Mets or Braves really however I must admit the Mets are actually a good team when they're on and right now a better team then the Braves. I guess you forgot about last year huh man? The Braves didn't even make the playoffs and the Mets finished first.

Now, I'm in no way, shape or form a Met fan because it sounds like I'm defending them, I'm not however I do have to list the facts and right now the Mets are better then the Braves are. That whole division isn't nearly the best competitive wise. Nationals are a joke, Marlins are a joke, Phillies are the same always finish is 3rd or 4th and the Mets have sucked until the past few years, therefore pretty easy for the Braves to win every year until of late in last year and this year....


The Mets however, aren't nearly as good as they look when they win...that NL east is bad compared to other divisions...hell even the analysts say this, a new stat just mentioned today actually in the Met game.

The Mets record is nearly identical to last years at this point, however the difference is they're not playing as well, and the other teams in that division aren't dominating anything....

The Braves are 2 games back yet can't cut that? Come on....that's pretty bad If you ask me, the Met's have been playing not nearly as good as the first few months and 2 games is nothing.

In saying so, I also feel that the Mets are NOT the best team in the NL. I mean lol some people believe this, yet they got owned in interleague play and there are other teams that can beat them, actually the NL period got owned in interleage, all-star etc. I have noticed the Braves beat them in Atlanta more often then not, however when the Mets host them. The Mets win more often then not so then you have the rest of the season to deal with. 2 games is nothing, if a team can't cut that within a few months time that's pretty bad if you think about it.

That division will be all Mets/Braves until the end, the way things are going now neither can't capatilize on the others mistakes, the Met's can't increase that lead for shit and the Braves can't catch up to them.

I'd say right now the Cubs, Rockies are the better teams in the NL right now. They're pretty hot of late, Met's cooled down, Braves can't catch up and the west isn't all that. The most exciting thing about the west NL is Bonds...and that's pretty sad actually given the situation with him.

The Braves are a lot like the NL version of the Yankees in consistency for the most part thru out the years and do make some pretty key moves, so I do respect that about them however I've also noticed the Mets are finally doing that themselves since Manaya took over. It should be an interesting race. Glavine going to the Mets hurt the Braves a bit, but not tremendously he's been struggling this year. You have to hear the Met fans crying about him, honestly the guys doesn't seem horrible so I don't get why they're bitching....

Then again, NYC in general is very demanding with big names.
