Mileena is one of the fastest racers, one of my best.
If you don't know, you can press X or B (Circle and Square on PS2) to bump fellow racers left or right. I'm not to sure about the unlockable characters though.
Mileena is good if you are a beginner.

Back on Topic :My fav. racer is Jax,Online and Off I tend to get "ganged on" by other Motor Kombatents so I make use of his special to get some breathing room,the downside off it is the fact that they have to be close so I wont use it unless their closing in on me

I am best with using Raiden. Scorpion ain't bad either.

Btw is it just me or is Cyrax a pain as the cpu, cause for some reason whenever I lose a race, there's about a 70% chance he wins. Arrgh.

Baraka seems to be a top racer down to the fact he shoots in both directions.
milena may be the fastest but it seems that when you are behing you always catch them up regardless of the speed so weapons beat speed.
I may be wrong as im new to the game it just seems that way

I was wondering about something.

Are the Motor Kombat opponents always:

- Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kitana, Mileena, Johnny Cage, Jax, Cyrax and Raiden

Because I only get those 8 no matter who I pick.

But once I had Baraka instead of Johnny Cage in the Outworld Refinery. I've never seen Baraka as the cpu ever again. Bo' Rai Cho has never been a cpu opponent. I've tried max mode and there's no difference in characters.

Is it just me or is it normal for Baraka to be a cpu opponent. And could Baraka/Bo' Rai Cho as a cpu involve unlocking anything?
