the Ps2 version uses the HEADSET online!!!!!!!!
How is it a waste of money to go online!!!!
it is FREE (well at least for ps2) you probably said it is a waste of money cause u probably have an xbox who those ppl have to pay 10 dollars a month. that money adds up u know.
i rather play online for free and have better online games with ps2. lets see we got metal gear solid 3, SOCOM 2 (which is by far way better then halo. (we have splinter cell 2, which just came out for ps2 :( butwe have extra levels and such and we can use the headset for all sports games, manhunt, SOCOM, and other good games. the only reason why u can use the headset for EVERY online game for xbox is because u dont have many good online games LOL, all your online games or like football and crap, to the same extent we use our headset for sports games too!!
the only thing u have over us is that fact that xbox comes with a harddrive, we have to pay 100 fucking dollars, that my only complaint, but then again our harddrive it the same amount to 3 xbox hardrives, yea u heard me 3 times bigger.
anyway bump mapping wtf is that??? some person gave a nerdy scientist way of explaining it???
well thankx anyway

Ok, what I meant was, it's a waste for me personally, I have no desire to play online. I forgot it's free for PS2, but wow, I had no idea that X-box owners have to pay that much. I guess 10 bucks isn't bad, but not for a month, gets a little costly.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 1 year subscription to Xbox Live is $49.99, so it's not that expensive, still I prefer the free PS2 online play.
whats the big deal if you can use the headset online? i really dont give a damn 'sh*t"...
coz if i was to play with you, i'd mute your voice before the round starts dude :)
i dont wana hear some guy from the other end of the world saying "this guys just too fast!" ;)

Begun the console war has.
Seriously I've been here long enough to tell fanboys when I've seen them. If you need to prove your superiority by the system you have than get a person of the opposite sex to talk to you. I'm not siding either as I blame equally the PisS2ers and the Its really a big rectangle Box owners.
Online play
Having access to all the systems is nice. Online wise I gotta support the XBox, but I mean if I'm paying for it, it better be good.
Bump mapping
Someone doesn't want in nerdy? Geeze you post on a internet message board. Bump mapping is a technique used in graphics programs to produce the appearance of textured surfaces. It works by altering the brightnesses of the pixels in specific patterns. So kinda imagine a pattern being pasted on a object, but instead its a pattern of light and shading, giving a look of detail and texture.
If you need hand gestures, I'm available all week.
The Sex-Box (which I named Sony, pls tell me someone got that) will have the better graphics, sorry to say it. If you're willing to pay, it'll have the better online experience. Some people can afford it.
MK7 & Online
If MK7 is on these systems, and Ed Boon does try to implement tournaments and more advanced features, XBox Live 3.0 will be no problem. I don't know what you can do with the game being hosted on the PS2 (I've heard the new Final Fantasy is a pain to setup).
I hate being smart.

And you think that Xbox LIVE won't have this? This announcement was made cause their were some that didn't think the PS2 would have voice chat. Every single LIVE game has voice communication and MK:D will be no different. Iam still gonna get the PS2 version unless I can find the adapter that lets you play w/a PS2 controller on the Xbox.

I hope this guy gets banned like the guy who made that gameplay thread where the mods said he was purposely starting something. I'm not even going to argue that mess. I'll just correct him.
1) It's not 10 dollars a month for Xbox Live. It's a flat rate of $49.99 for a whole year. Don't you have to pay monthly for FFXI? You don't have to for any Xbox game. Only Phantasy Star. But that goes for all systems.
2) How is PS2 Online free? You have to buy a network adaptor for $40. Xbox Live is $10 more. Add the HDD for PS2 and the PS2 is a far more expensive system.

Yes the adapters do exist. I know you can get them at Media Play, but I dunno about the place where you live.
I actually prefer the OLD XBox controllers. I have big hands.

Since when has MGS3 been online, there has been mention of this anywhere, At best you may be able to download new duds into the HDD, but their will be no online play. As far as PS2 online goes, only Socom is worth a damn, and some peoples opinion Rainbow 6 3 for the Xbox destroys it. I can use my headset on the Xbox version of manhunt too, big whoopy, the game still sucks. Face facts, with online games like Capcom Vs. SNK 2, MechAssualt, DDR, Wolfinstein, Splinter Cell( everything the PS2 version has can be doenloaded, and its graphics still smoke the PS2 versions), PGR2, Rallisport 2, DOA ultimate, SF3, MK:Deception, Full Spectrum Warrior, Halo 2, Doom 3, Rainbow 6 3 and R63:Black Arrow, SNK vs. Capcom, Guilty Gear X2 Reload, etc, XBlive smokes the competition. Add in the fact that many games such as Metal Slug 3, Ninja Gaiden, Midway Arcade Classics, etc yet you upload stats and scores, and many games like Splinter Cell:PT, Toejam and Earl, Brute Force, PGR2, etc let you download new stages, characters, modes, etc and you can see that XBlive is just a more robust feature and its worth the money you spent over the semi broken, you get what you pay for, PS2 online.

...Then after a year you can have the option to renew your subscription for $49.99 for another year OR $5.99 a month.
