If he's secret why did they put up a bio, wallpaper and movie of him 2 months before release? He's probably just one of the 3 or 4 slots who's identity isn't obvious and just isn't wearing the hat.

Maybe they are going to add more spaces for characters to fit in! Because if you noticed at the E3 selection screen to both sides there is a little bit of space for even 6 more characters like 3 more in the left and 3 more in the right... they just need to add the squares for their pictures.

I'm pretty sure he won't be a secret character. First of all, he was confirmed playable at E3 by the representatives. I've never heard of a "secret character" being revealed as early as that. Second, they wouldn't show footage of a character that won't be playable at start, especially if Midway has gone as far as to censor stratagy guides to prevent secrets from being released prior to the game.

Do we know how many will be playable from the start?

I was under the impression the default 12 so far ARE the default 12 for the full release and that the blacked out guys(Noob, kira, ect.) are the hidden characters.

The select screen most likely will change because i cant see Raiden being a "secret character" i dont think they would release videos of a secret character then it wouldnt be secret

I thought that the center twelve are the ones who are playable from the start. Boon said that you would be able enlarge the select screen with more than the 24 spots. I think the select screen is okay, but they might have changed it to fit the rest of the characters.

From what i understand is E3 was in May and the game isnt released tell october so that means there still working on it and removing all glichs so what we seen from E3 pic. is that that wasnt the final select screen and we now everything is not finshed because if it was then it would have shiped alot sooner then october.

I haven't seen all the vids, but from what I know the only thing that's been said is that there's 24 main characters and that there are more characters in the game...which could mean a whole bunch of things. That could be talking about people in Konquest or in the story or in endings or who knows what. I haven't seen anyone say there are officially more than 24 PLAYABLE characters.

Well it's obvious that there will be more thatn 24 playable characters. Now its true that Raiden could be the last character on the select screen, because we've pretty much confirmed which squares coorespond to which characters, but GameSpot also confirmed that Jax was in the game too. Now that's 25...and I doubt that Jax is the only one we have seen or heard about so far. I mean there's the possibility of a lot more characters from Deadly Alliance. We also have rumors of the sub-boss being playable, another shokan, and then we have these mysterious character Damashi and Havik that may show up as playable characters as well. So, I'd say that either the select screen has changed, or after a certain point in the game more squares will be added. I just hope that we dont have the "hidden" button like in MK4 or the "Hold down and select so and so", I have a thing with wanting to see every character on the actual screen, and not hidden to the sides.

We do not have 25 characters confirmed. Besides the default 12 we've seen Noob, Darrius, Shujinko, Raiden, Ben, Kira, The see-through ninja who's probably Smoke, the green girl, Kabal and possibly Skab. That means there's room for 2 others.

Rumors about another shokan or whatever are just that..rumors.


Personally I see no reason to start getting hyped about more than 24 characters when we don't even know who the first 24 are!

I think a lot of people are going to end up disappointed with all these rumors flying about.

What was the exact quote? Because we know there will be a bunch of people in Konquest.

"24 characters in the game...plus more bonus characters!" or whatever could mean anything.

But if he said "more than 24 playable characters" thats another thing....

It was an E3 interview. The person asked how large the final roster of characters was going to be, and if 24 was the set number. He responded saying that the final number of characters had not been decided yet, but there would definitely be more than 24 in all.

I was speaking with one of the chat OPs yesterday who went to E3, and he said that the Midway reps stated that there would be initially 24 playable characters. Unlike MKDA, none of the default characters will have to be unlocked. The only reason the other half of the characters were shadowed in MKDA is because the team was trying to patch up the problem of the deficit of hidden characters.

Trust me, that problem has been solved. There will be a deluge of hidden characters for MKD, according to my sources.

Sorry manno, you left out Liu Kang, and what is most likely Sektor or Cyrax. It's a cyborg for sure. That leaves 1 square, and that's not Raiden's. Besides even if Jax and Raiden were your missing two...neither of them fit any of the spots. There will be more than 24 it's been confirmed
