Let's pretend for a moment that Team MK has confirmed the return of Liu Kang in MK:Deception. With this being confirmed, the question is ... how would you like to see him brought back?

Here are some idea-starters:

1. Resurrected by the Elder Gods
2. Returning in an angelic form
3. New life granted due to a plea-bargain with death (possibly Evil Liu Kang?)
4. Resurrected by Quan Chi/Shang Tsung (again, the possibility of Evil Liu returns)
5. Inexplicably resurrected (much like Cage or Goro)

Feel free to expand upon these ideas or share your own.

i personally dont mind 1 and 5 but based on what i hear from the others about johnny cage, i think many would disagree with the two...

number 2? angelic? not mortal kombat like... doesnt fit... cant imagine it...

number 3 and number 4 are okay i guess but still, many people would disagree with returning the dead to life...

,

well it depends, I would go with quan chi, using liu kang as an evil force, mabey quan chi having possesion of liu kang's dead body to sneak behind enemy lines and learn about how each fighter on the side of good. so it would kind of be liu kang's body without his personality.

also, don't forget liu kang is the earth's champion and was killed outside of the tournament by unlawful rules. so mabey, just mabey he could be ressurected by the elder gods only in the tournament, and he must defend his title or else he will go back to the after life again. so if he wins he could live his life on to the next tournament.

but unlike other warriors, his soul was actually taken so unless they find and save his soul (which i dont think happened in mk5), there is little possiblity that he would be back...

hey, maybe that could be johnny cage's next storilne, he should try to free liu kang's soul in order for him to be revived (revival based on the story grizzle wrote)

It would be awsome if liu came back as an evil warrior. so 3 & 4 even though if Quan Chi's ending is accurate, then he could come back as Lui Kano.wink

I DON'T want him back! Banish him to the Netherealm is what I say!

Although there is method#6 that you left out:

Midway borrow from the cartoon and make the winner of MK immortal, so he was just hiding really, that's all.

He might pull a Kung Lao UMK3/MK3/MKT.

I don't want him back too!

Johnny Cage died why the MKTeam fired the actor what interpreted Johnny in the MK3, and when they solved its differences, they made it return in MKTrilogy & MK4.

And if you pay attention the history of the MKDA of Johnny Cage, it gives the impression as if they wanted to do because its deaths and resurreciones were part of their films, and that never died, to cause that it is impossible to revive.

Therefore, the only fighter who has revived has been Mileena, but so that she was not human, but a clone. Goro never confirmed its death in the MK1 (unlike now), and Scorpion already made debut being a phantom, that always returns so that it is not destroyed.

Liu Kang will not return (it would be a double error, not only who the game cannot work perfectly without him, but also that Kung Lao had failed with the role to leader of the Earth warriors)

hmmm... i never thought of it that way.... but i think Liu Kang may be the link to Johnny Cage's improved storyline because i think they became friends in the first MK??

my guess is that Liu Kangs soul will be used in one of the main generals in the dragon kings army and with that he might be a playable character but just not in his original body... taking for granted that he never entered Kanos body...

As much as I'd hate to see Liu Kang in MK6...if he were to be in that game, I'd want him to be evil.

Yes, they did become friends in the first film, but yet johnny cage is still alive, he already knows what it's like to be dead, that could be interesting. but yet kung lao had a better relationship with liu kang than johnny cage. i've always seen raiden tied in with johnny cage's storyline. i would like his storyline to involve raiden.

a while back someone posted a story that had a creature to be like the grim reaper who was from the netherealm. he could probably try and take johnny cage back to the realm of the dead, and try and punish raiden. so those two could stick together.

or another storyline involving kung lao, raiden, johnny cage, and kai. since they are in no group they should band together in outworld, and johnny cage's attitude could change, mabey his last movie bombed out and people disrespect him for that. so johnny cage has left for a long time. instead of raiden seeking him out, johnny cage called upon him.

also johnny cage never took his sun glasses off after he came back from the dead. there could be something he is hiding from everyone that only he knows. this could be good potential for his story.

I like a good bit of your suggestions MFC... I personally would love to see Liu back in the game because as I said about 2 years ago in here, I think he has great potential for the newer engine they created for MK. I guess I am one of the few people who still like Liu because I remember almost everyone jumping for joy when we found out he wouldn't be in Deadly Alliance.

i liked liu kang, he was my favorite in the original mortal kombat, then cage was in mk2. i dunno but people hate him because of his turkey voice. hah his nickname is turkey man or something like that.

y do we have to keep discussing this. Liu Kang needs to move out of the way and just stay dead. He always was a useless fighter.

I would yell "NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" at the top of my lungs for a good 5 minutes, because I really hate Kang and don't want him back in any way shape or form. Anyway after I realize that I have no say in the matter I would say "oh well what the F**K can you do" and wish for him to be evil I guess.

We don't have to keep discussing this. However, it is interesting to see how the creative minds in this forum react to different storyline ideas.

Okay Mobster, since we're just pretending that the MK5.org staff doesn't have ties to the developers wink

I love Liu Kang. He's the hero of MK and I wouldn't have it any other way. I know that MK6 will most likely have an intro much like MKDA did, so they would have to bring up Liu Kang in it right? Not exactly. Keep Liu Kang hidden in the shadows as a "mysterious warrior" wearing a hooded cloak or something so no one can tell who it is as I'm sure Liu would play in integral part of the storyline... doesn't mean we have to know who it is.

Then make Liu Kang a playable fighter. But only unlocked after the game has been completed with everyone else.

And Liu Kang's bio could explain how he was ressurected/whatever and his ending could be the official cannon ending that leads the way for MK7.

here's another option:

the 6th tournament comes up and it involves the Dragon King. Everyone thinks that Reptile is the Dragon King but in the end, it is revealed that Liu Kang is the true Dragon King... and thats why the game is called deception...

lolz!
