Yeah, that could be. For all we know Shujinko could be facing DA Jax, character model and all. Either way though, Jax can be fought but whether or not he's actually in the real arcade mode or anything is yet to be seen.

So what the hell's Jacob doing on an MK character select screen? I mean I know that Epic and Midway have signed I contract for the Unreal franchise, and there's been speculation of an MK character appearing in UT but not this soon.
Edit: I apalogize for my earlier stupidity. I have been informed thats the UC2:Lailandi Conflict select screen. Sehkmet, Jacob, and Horus can be seen. Sorry about that. I just didn't think they'd put MK character in the game so soon, after signing the deal with Epic.

Guys, what's up with all the Jax hate. There are so many potentially boring characters (like palette swapped Rain, etc etc). If he's in the game, just buck it and quit complaining.

I wasn't pleased to see Liu Kang return, but I never bitched about this sans end. I would be pleased however if Jax did return.

I hate Jax. Also Super Unlockables that defeat the purpose of it (yes, MoKap, I'm looking at you, although he was a pretty good kharacter gameplay wise) Darrius is the new Jax! Also the Super Unlockables should be worth it, like:

Mavado (well, maybe not...but the Red Dragon-Lin Kuei feud was hinted at in DA)
