Since the release of the latest intro movie, we can only assume the game is done, and Boon and Team are running around with cans of Raid (Bug killer) hunting bugs. Anyhow, We all have questions, so here's some answers. One being where Quan Chi and Shang Tsung went, I for one have the same question.
Well, Assuming that Shujinko will be the one to slay the dragon king, let's say that Liu Kang is resurrected by the Dragon King, to stop Shujinko (Champion vs Champion.) Shang and Quan are huge parts of Konquest, where Shujinko needs to get the items he needs to defeat Onaga. The only thing standing in his way are smaller, more easily conquered challenges. Keep in mind this is only a theory, but I think Reptile will be the Sub Boss, and giving Reptile the power he finally deserves, Onaga a scaley monster just like Reptile, respects the beast. Now, onto where everybody went...
Quan Chi and Shang Tsung couldn't have died, Raiden wouldn't have killed them, or would he? His sacrafice could have wiped out both of the sorcerors and done nothing but piss Onaga off, but they could have teleported as well, possibly to a realm long forgotten by Onaga. Raiden calls upon his forces of Earth and such as he falls, and becomes the darker lightening rod we all see. It is up to Earth's forces to bring punishment to the Dragon King and stop what he's doing. The DA also want to do the same, but this doesn't change their position, it also might change alot of alliances. Shujinko could need the help of the DA, while Scorpion is hunting Quan Chi, this putting a thorn in Shujinko's side. Another one, which would be the clan war between Mavado's clan and Sub Zero, with Kabal back, where does that put him in the war? Alliances will be broken, characters will be deceived, and things will occur.
What's everyone think?!
I have already read something from someone with so called "sources" that Raiden made a deal with Shang Tsung to resurect Liu Kang to assist in the battle with the DK.
If proven true is a cool reason to bring Liu Kang back and at the same time open to "deception" twists.
Don't shoot the messenger........

it could also explain why Scorpion is on Sub Zeros foe list and Shujinkos and vice-versa.
Sub Zero and Shujinko may see that they need Quan and Shang if they want to even stand a small chance against Onaga and Scorpion in his blind quest for vengeance would ignore that.

IF it is even true then maybe
Raiden has tricked (deceived) Shang Tsung successfully
OR
None of them know Shujinko is "the chosen one" (except Shujinko himself).
| ninja_arts Wrote: Why would they do that? They have Shujinko. It makes no sense. |
EDIT - I just re-read the post I got this stuff from and the poster only "thinks" it, doesn't state it's fact so I wouldn't read too much into it.

The other ones I dare say look like kitana, sonya, frost, and someone in a red tank top??? Don't remember anyone like that in DA...
I think all 3 of Raiden, Tsung and Quan brought Liu back, cause they did not know of Shujinko...
BTW.. what do u mean "Scorpion get's tured on"??? Does he have a Dragon King fetiche????

Liu Kang is either:
1- A result of a deal between Shang and the Earth Alliance
2- A pawn of Onaga (ergo resurrected by Onaga)
3- Shang Tsung in disguise.
There was no mention of Kahn unfortunately, but I think he will play a key role in the defeat of the DK.

Still speculation.
Moloch could return as the sub-boss, though, if not, it's most likely Reptile (uber-powerful tho) or Evil Liu Kang.
Li Mei is likely to be evil (since she has the Dragon King's Army's armor).
As for Ermac, Nightwolf & Kenshi, I couldn't say.

Unless they changed the look of Onaga's soldiers in the intro, their armor and Li Mei's armor are not even remotely similar. Onaga's troops have very samurai-esque armor and Li Mei's is more Chinese. Completely different designs.
