You guys have to stop insulting each other or this thread will get closed. Discuss this in a mature way, without insulting and cursing each other.
I think the game was made good despite the gliches online, EX: BRC and Jade's wierd damage shit.. but think about it if you were fighting someone in real life and they were going to throw you could you stand up and hold your arms up and not get thrown????? I didn't think so, ducking is one of the best ways out, and even if they were still going to throw you even if your ducked, just get in a fast upper cut, you'll get them one way or another... well bye everyone and stop whining...
Refrain from using all caps in your postings please, next time you will be skulled. ~ TT

Some people here have no idea what they are talking about.I've tried to hold back, but after reading many stupid posts here,I just couldn't help myself but post...
The game isn't cheap, the players that constantly rely on throws and grabs are. it is totally gay, period, when you need to throw 5, 6, 7, 8 times a round to win. Yes, it can be ducked, but if all the player is doing is attempting a grab every 3 seconds, it makes for a really lame game. A few here and there is fine to throw off the balance of your opponent but you idiots crying, "Just don't play then" are missing the big fucking picture. If you need to constantly grab and throw to win you have no fucking skill. PERIOD.
This game is broken dude, and thus it sucks. What's wrong with using throws if they help getting victories? They track and are inescapable, and give some characters 50% of damage.Nobody cares what you think as long as it works. The limited and ridiculous engine allows 50/50 mix ups,so of course you will see throws and the same moves over and over again.
People who throw and people who have the ability of setting you up for 50/50 mix ups are the people who will win, regardless of whether you think this represents skill or not;in fact,it's irrelevant what you think because those people will keep winning and you will keep whining and asking Boon about more fatalities and mini-games.Then,when the next MK comes out you will cry again because some guy was abusing the engine's flaws and killing you in the game.
In conlcusion, don't be a scrub or noob.People will always abuse the stuff that gets them victories, and it doesn't matter which fighting game we're talking about. It's just that MK:D is a joke as far as its engine is concerned.Either abuse the broken stuff or don't play. This post isn't specifically referring to you but to all the people who think like you.

Well, you are a complete idiot if you think I am bashing the game or throws. I was very objective in my OPINION. If you need the throw crutch m2, I guess that's your lame way of winning, and more 'power' to you.
That's not the point.Read.The point is that the developers could have done a better job;it's their fault that the engine is crappy, not the players for finding out the broken stuff and abusing it.

Well, you CAN prevent a throw by hitting the throw button at the exact same time as your opponent does. And it's kind of a game of chance, too. You don't know when the enemy's gonna throw you. If timed correctly, the two will try to grab each other, but let go of each other immediately, thus cancelling each other out, but at that point, it's pretty much a contest of who can smack or throw the enemy first, since once the throws cancel each other out, BOTH characters are vulnerable to the next attack.
Knowing my horrible experience at close-quarters kombat vs. the CPU in MK1, 2, and 4, I have decided to throw only when my gut instinct either tells me it's absolutely safe to do so, or tells me to "throw or be thrown." And I think "throw or be thrown" should serve as a very strong statement to those facing complete throw-whores. I know of three situations where this statement proves effective. The first, as I already pointed out earlier, is right after both peoples' throws cancel each other out. The second is when you win your first round of the match while backed into a corner (I mean that literally), and your opponent is right next to you (or at least will be once he/she gets up). The third is when your opponent uses that "move before the fight starts" glitch (in that situation, they're most likely doing that to try and throw you at the start of the fight). However, don't take "throw or be thrown" too seriously, as people who do that become throw-whores.
Once you fall into those throw glitches, I don't think there's much that can be done about it.
