Torn between getting the Xbox or PS2 version of MKD

Well, I have MKDA for BOTH the PS2 and XBOX. On the PS2, you can do all the fatalities with relative ease and the controller is responsive---BUT on the Xbox, the controller is not as responsive and it's harder to pull of the fatalities.

On the PS2, the graphics aren't as good as the Xbox. I've also read that the animations aren't as fluid either.

So, I'm torn on which version to get. I'm really having a hard time figuring out which will be better in the long run. Is there something I am missing about the Xbox controller? Do I need to break-it-in more since I just bought it new in July? Anyone else have problems pulling off the fatalities with the Xbox version?

I hate to be this undecided so close to the release date.

XBox of course, then I can own you online wink

Combos etc are easy with the Controller S, so make sure it's that your using.

To resume, the PS2 will probably have the best controls and the X-box will have the best graphics. The question is what matters the most to you? Graphics or controls?
One option is to get the controller adapter so that you can use ps2 controllers on an xbox.
I prefer the ps2 controllers so that's what I use.That way you get to use your favourite controller and slightly better graphics.

You bring up a good point, the PS2 has a better controller for gamers. But XBox will probably look better...I'd get the PS2 version. Though Midway should release it for PC wink

Hmmm.. Never heard of an adapter for the Xbox to use a PS2 controller. I'll look for it online. I just like the PS2 controller better because the fatalities WORK on it. Too bad there isn't a better controller for the Xbox.

Well, I think that if you feel more confortable when playing the PS2 version you should buy that one. The graphics in either version will be pretty much alike, and I don't think the animations will be THAT different(If they are, which I don't think so). However, if you prefer a little bit of better graphics and less confortability, then go for the XBox...it's not that difficult to decide...remember it IS the same game after all.

Before I got my XBOX, I used to think that the Dual Shock 2 was the greatest controller ever created, but now I kinda like the feel of the XBOX controller better, but I'd say they're both equal.


Anyways, I'm getting mine for the XBOX, since I have no reason to get it for the PS2.

Most people will say that the PS2 controller is better(But not IMO) so it all matters on the person. The XBOX will have better graphics, better load times, and a much better online mode, plus the exclusive box arts if you're getting the Kollector's Edition. The PS2 has the cool looking Premium Pack Sub-Zero cover though.

So Krimzon, you like the Xbox versions better? Do you have a hard time pulling off the fatalities with the Xbox controller? I have the S-Controller. I sometimes have to do the fatality moves 3 times--sometimes running out of time which is frustrating to no end.

Alot of people say there is better control for the ps2. I have both games for both systems and I always use the x-box. I have never had a problem with the fatalities or had a problem with the control factor. If I were you I would get it for what ever system I felt more comfortable with,what system your online with,what one more of your friends will be playing. The load times are great for the x-box and I will be getting the game for on it first. DSB

Xbox Version
I bought the adapter (to use ps2 controllers on Xbox) in HMV (I'm in London) so it should be pretty easy to get in the U.S.

I'm not a big fan of PS2's anti-aliasing.(I have a ps2 though so I'm not biased)

get a new s controler which are the new xbox controllers that are smaller(come with xboxes now) and once u play mk for a while on xbox its easy, i can pull of even raidens looooooong combo wit xbox, and the graphics are just the $hit on xbox, drop dead amazing, i mean ps2 aint terrrible, they just suck compared to xbox, and xbox has faster loading and never freazes for me , like my bros ps2 dus.

not to mention faster load times, it's a no-brainer, especially for MK chess with lots of loading.

From what I've heard, PS2 online for this game is free, while if you play on Xbox live, you'll still have to pay the fees for Xbox live.

I'll be getting the PS2 as I only have a PS2 and Gamecube. I really want an Xbox, though. ^-^

Subzero_olderbro: My S-Controller IS new. I just bought the Xbox brand new in July. I tried again a little while ago to pull off Lei Mei's fatality and it wouldn't work no matter how many times I tried. I did Scorpions and it took two battles before it did it. Then three more battles with it not working. I don't get what I am missing. The controller works fine with all the other games I have on my Xbox, and the combos go off without a hitch.

It kinda makes me feel stupid for buying a PS2, but at the time they had GTA:VC for PS2 only. Along with some other games I got..oh well. I just think it sucks that X-BOX has better graphics and loading time, lol it's not fair. I didn't buy the XBOX cus I was so used to playstation controllers, that's the main reason. I never got why people said that the XBOX controllers were big, they were perfect for me. I got big hands though..

uh whoever sed xbox has fees, first avol its 40 for a year, and its better than ps2 online, cuz u can download stuff, u can talk on all games, its set up better, and is alot faster and u hardly ever get quicked

you have to buy the ps2 version because it has the most comfortable controller.
you have to buy the ps2 version because midway has decided to make origonal mk controllers for PS2 only!!!
