I'm still stuck on the fence for this too. I like PS2 because the online is free. But when I watch the MK gameplay videos the XBOX looks better. How much is XBOX live a month? What makes it better than PS2 online? And are the controls easy on the XBOX?

I just found out XBOX live is only $6.00 a month. Hello XBOX version. Sucks that I can't get that cool sub zero special edition though. sad

Well, I guess I will just eventually get both.

I'll get the PS2 version at the release.... and then the Xbox version in November or December.

I was just messing with my Xbox MKDA and it STILL has a hard time getting the fatalities to be recognized. I even went into the Practice Mode to see if my moves were being recognized. They were registering perfectly.... So Why the he11 aren't they recognized when it comes time for the fatality to happen?????

i went to a eb store the other day and asked the manager which version i should buy and he highly recommended the xbox version because he said that sony is having major issues with its systems. He said they are messing up badly and said that in the near future the company is goin to be involved in many big lawsuits regarding this. So i would recommend the xbox version

This question is easy for me, the Xbox version hands down. The Xbox Controller s has never been an issue for me, and I can actually play MK:DA better with the Xbox controller than I can the Dual shock. Also I have a HDTV,an the Xbox is simply the best system for those with High end systems. The Xbox version of MKD is reported to support both true Widescreen and Progressive scan 480p, and while the PS2 version will have these features also, there software supported instead of Hardware supported. And who can forget the fact that the Xbox version will probably feature better textures, reflections, some bump mapping, and a slightly sharper and clearer resoulation as well as true 5.l Dolby Digital surround sound. An since the online portion of the game is one of its new key features, why would I want to deal with sony's slightly screwed up Online support when XBL kills it?

Okey I'm getting the PS2 version cuz I don't have an XBox, however; I don't know if it's me(I'm sure it is) but I think the difference in graphics between the XBox version and the PS2 one are not THAT big. I've played MKDA on both and I think it's the same thing. However, I know some people are very obsessed with having great and the perfect graphics. The loading times don't seem that shorter in the XBox version either. Howeve, I still think it's not that hard to decide: If you want the best and perfect graphics for the game(although I think it's not THAT different) go with XBox, if you prefer to be comfortable, go with the PS2.

Other thing you can do, as I actually think you don't care about which one to get(That's why you're undecided I think, as you actually think both are good) you should get the one with your favorite character on the cover. For example, if your fav character is Mileena, Raiden, Baraka or Scorpion; go with XBox. If your favorite character is Sub-Zero go with PS2.

A lot of people don't realize that you can change the graphics and Disc Speed of your PS2 from the startup screen. -Start up the PS2. -Hit the triangle to get into the version screen. -And choose OPTIONS with, I believe, the triangle again. -There should be two things you can change there. One is for CD speed and the other is for Smooth or Standard Graphics. I choose Fast Speed and Smooth Graphics and I don't notice any big difference between my Xbox version and my PS2 version of MKDA.

Man I just changed my settings for the PS2. Now I'm back on the fence again.

I don't want a bigger movelist Boon. I want a reason to use more than
10% of the ones you've given me. Fix MK with Move Properties.

Thats only for playing PSOne games, and it does not nothing to change PS2 games in anyway. Where do you guys think up some of this crap, do some research first before you post some BS like this.

though i like the graphics and all on MKDA i think the xbox version increase the difficulty because ps2 version seemed much easier
also.. i have gameshark for ps2.. therefor i can get unlimited koins and unlock krypt without sittin on my ass for weeks and weeks like i did on MKDA

Once again I'll try to be unbiased:
PS2 Online vs XBox Live
Its like the difference b/w an atennna and paying for cable. Yeah I could get the basic channels, or I could spoil myself. Go with what you need and use.

Graphics
Don't compare the MKDA XBox port graphics to now. Yes the XBox version will have bump mapping, and sorry to say but most sites are just posting the videos and pics on both their xbox and ps2 sites, no matter from what system the console is on.

Controller
They got adaptors to use any controller on any system. Controller choice shouldn't bother you. Controller - S isn't too shabby compared to PS2 Dual Shock.

Problems executing
One word, viagara err oh fatals. I really think its just you. I have no problem, and I use (and prefer) the big fat controllers.

My decision
I'm going with Xbox because of the HDTV, the XBox Live, the graphics, and sound (I have a humble 600 watts to myself).

Note:
Careful about adjusting PS2 read speeds. A friend did that and his PS2 started to cry as if a baby was dropped. Okay the thing overheated. XBox thompson drives suck balls, and I replaced mine with a phillips drive.

I had to choose between X-box and PS2... and i was 100% impartial because I am a cube fan...

Anyway.. I chose PS2 because:
Graphical difference is not that much of a gap that you can really notice without having them side-by-side...

I found the controller MUCH easier to use, not only for the place of the buttons, but also they responded better

Loading times where quicker in PS2

NOTE: I judged by trying Psi-Ops in both platforms

ps2 version, because of controls, its very important because its a fighter, and with ps2 you dont have to subscribe to anything to get online, so its freee, or is it? if im wrong someone please correct me

go for ps2, because i know that in a fighting game, when the controls, dont do what you want them to do you get so mad your ready to kill somebody, and i dont know if it was you or somebody else who said the xbox controls werent responsive but if this is true i say dont even bother with the xbox version, unless you dont have ps2

i guess online play with xbox controls wouldnt be such a set back if it wasnt responsive because think about it, the guy you would be playing would be using the same difficult, non-responsive xbox controller

Well, I have been messing around with both versions of MKDA and I got these results:

Xbox: Fatalities not executing or executing by mere luck due to the stiff, unresponsive controller.

PS2: Flawless execution of Fatalities (ok, that was a bad pun!) 99% of the time. Of course, there are those missed button combinations every once in a great while. But, on the whole, every fatality performed.

I don't really care if the other guy has a controller just as unresponsive as mine. I'm not getting the game for online play---at first. I will most likely spend the first 2 months or so getting used to the new interactive backgrounds, fatalities, characters, fighting system tweaks, and secrets. This, of course, says nothing of how much time I will devote to Konquest.

I think the character of Shujinko is gonna kick butt. He has a lot of the moves of the other fighters. I can't wait to do the Raiden torpedo move again. I wonder if Raiden will have it himself again?

But, I digress. Bottom line for me is that I don't mind taking a miniscule hit in graphics for a responsive controller. The greatest graphics in the world isn't gonna mean anything if I am constantly groaning in frustration as the time runs out while trying to perform a fatality or the victim gets hit by accident. That just plain sucks.
