I see your point, but in Crows defense, the main reason (in this case at least) was that every single other thread went completely NUTS/CRAZY/PSYCHO about seeing Ms. Blade and her gigantic double E friends, that they started posting and asking for scans, which we know isn’t allowed. So the majority of those went closed.
Mine remained open for obvious reasons.
But yeah, sometimes that happens and its just weird. But I think, in Crows and the mods defense yet again, that in these cases they tend to take a very long time to update news because they first need to verify if the sources (in this case the magazine and scans) are 100% correct.

As for your post on MK1 characters, sorry, but I completely disagree. How in the world can it even be called ridiculous?
It would make a little tiny bit of sense if all those characters you mentioned had only appeared in the first game and period. But remember, they have been constant to the very last, predominant in the series, favored above many others as well, and to add a cherry to the top, they have become icons. They are not there “just because they appeared in MK1”, they are not just there because they are, as you plainly state “iconic”, as if they didn’t disserve the title.
They are iconic for excellent reasons, not just because the air and plenty of fans went crazy and decided to make them icons.
And their opinion (fans) counts because it makes sense buddy, and they know “MKvsDC is in production”. I could understand your position if these characters had only appeared in a total of 2 games, but no, they have been constant. Even the magazine article quotes:
“A perennial whipping girl (Sonya)”.
You say “at least ninjas have interesting character conceptions”...that’s a complete matter of opinion. If Im not mistaking, your fave character remains Smoke right? (LOL! Remember our opinions regarding ninja vs robot? I insist, its so great to see you back man!!!!
And don’t jump to conclusions so early, Sonya isn’t likely to be the only good female of the game (unless they pull a MK1-MK3-Mk4 again, which isn’t likely), so Kitana could still have a chance, and we will most likely get villains, and Mileena is a top candidate in that aspect, probably more then Kitana because of her MKD promotion.

I really really hope this is true!!! We are all bored of the dial-up thing, we need something new, hopefully original and that’s obviously fun+good! It was fun back then, but now, the change is important.
Btw, mkfl, he didn’t mean to say he didn’t believe the article or you. Just saying he doesn’t trust Ed’s words anymore. He IS known for saying a lot that never comes real in the end after all. Im really positive about this news and I hope its for real!

I mean, that is without a doubt just an annoying foreshadowing of much more bitching to come as the rest of the cast is revealed. If a character like her who was 99% confirmed from Boon's first interview and who has plenty of reasons to be included gets a couple bitchers (yeah, it's a word), then I can just imagine in horror all the bitching that's gonna come from the rest of the cast. LMAO!!! Well said Leo! I’ve got nothing to add...yet.
As for dial-up combo, it means the same style that was introduced in gameplay in MK3. Were you just have to memorize button sequences to do a combo all the time. Just memorize and type buttons....ugh, we are bored of that already. We need something that’s not as mechanic and robotic (I’ve just seen others already answered your question, still...).

Definitely! With luck, we will be having the best gameplay system Mk's ever had! Im presonally very positive about this game, despite the fact that Im no huge fan of DC and that I wanted a real Mk to begin with.
I hope this time is all about pushing the right buttons to discover and create combos, wake up, escape, etc., not memorizing and stuff.
I also hope we get a new Sonya Render, and fast!

Yeah, you bet. MKA did introduce the wake up, parry system I just want them to improve further upon that in this game

I agree with this. The dial-up combos were fun and all, but, for me, after MKDA, I really hoped for something more deep. And yeah, for most users, that was after MK4 or even 3.

Now, as for the "grain of salt coments", I see why you say that and I agree, though I think we can be quite sure that this is what will indeed happen. If that's how the game played, and if its 65% finished, I doubt it would be possible to change the entire fighting system to be dial-up again in this few months left.

Yep, me as well hehe. I don't mind the change with MK ditching the dial ups, they worked well in some past games like UMK3 for example but definitely time for a new system

I hope this one works more like the tekken games and SC, etc., because those are the games most people enjoy to play competively for some reason, and that reason must be that style of gameplay. Its more fun!
