Guilty gear had a female boss right? ( dunno for sure. ) But it wasent imposing at all. So female boss = ok. Sub boss = not ok.
An octopus hybrid is just very wrong if you're not fighting it in water. if the thing had legs to move around and tentacles spawning from its back for example it might work. Else it looks more like a platform game boss.
( A world where women are stronger then men? bwhahahahaha =p. Slaves :3 )

Cmeth I think you're way off base with your arguments. Muscle mass, height, body proportion only measure raw power. Yes, females are usually smaller than males, but it doesnt mean they're less powerful overall. You need to factor in skill, battle experience and in the case of fantasy based games such as MK, magic or special abilities. Queve's octupus lady might not be physically as strong as goro or kintaro, or even look as menacing as them, but she gives off an aura of being swift, precise, and skillful. She could probably take on goro and kintaro simultaneously.

CMETH Wrote: Actually Queve, that I do know, based on Sheeva and other fighting games/games in general. Sorry but Sheeva never gave off as much power as Goro or Kintaro. Yes Goro and Kintaro were sub-bosses while Sheeva wasn't, but they were both four armed beast and she could have easily been a sub-boss. But Goro and Kintaro are both bigger and meaner looking than Sheeva ever was, and sorry but the titts and ass take away from that power feel. Females have a more sex appeal no matter what. Also other female sub-bosses/bosses never gave me any sense of power like male sub-bosses/bosses have. Cause whatever you make the sub-boss/boss look like, it would look bigger and meaner as a male. A male's chest is wider then a females, the arms are bigger, the overall body mass is bigger, females have two bigger things(titts and asses) which do not have anything to do with raw power/strength. Trust me, I don't say stuff without reasoning. I know what I'm taking about. |
I absolutely agree with this.
I would NEVER want a female as a Sub-boss. Whether it looks bad ass or not, a female Sub-boss would never give me the feel of power or might. I would never think "she" would be intriguing, just flat-out boring.
I, as well as others are so used to the male Sub-bosses. When i think of male bosses i think of a huge monster thats big, brutal and down right bad ass. And so far all the male sub-bosses have been that way. Goro to Kintaro, and Motaro to Moloch. I could never imagine having a female Sub-boss, especially a fish-monster or octopus......the idea gives me a migraine.
I dont speak for everyone, but some people would agree when i say male bosses are always more intimidating and better. Now, i dont exactly know how to say this, but i'll try. I was never to fond of females being all powerful in the first place and to be honest and i dont really go for the females in video games. I always find the male characters to always be and look bad ass, its something i've always grew up with. I find females to always be the "weaker" kind thats not strong but more on the soft side(that doesn't mean they can't be evil or whatever you want them to be, but i'm just saying, this is my usual point of view).
So in conclusion i always think the Male bosses would be meaner and just pure fuckin bad ass. IMO females would just take away the whole "HOLY SHIT THAT BOSS IS CRAZY" kind of mood and feeling. Male bosses all the way!

CMETH is right.
Whats the point of a female sub-boss if she walks, talks, and acts like a male, and the only way we could know it was a female was if it was stated in her bio, or indicated by her name?
Theres really no point in having a female sub-boss for the hell of it.

queve Wrote: CMETH Wrote: Dude, Sheeva was big and was sub-boss material, just her moves weren't. I can clearly use her as an example, it's whether you want to believe it or not. Also adding to much muscles to a female is just taking away what you want, a female. Sheeva had everything right for a female sub-boss. She had the right amount of muscles, was mean looking, looked just like Goro, except she was a bit thiner since females are. Hey, it's kool you want a female sub-boss, but a male could always give off more power look/sense whether you like it or not. Chill, dont get upset. Sheeva is by no means a good example, at all. Weather you want to believe it or not. She didnt have the aspect of someone powerful enough to be considered a monstrous sub-boss. She was just another one of the normal characters. Not even tall enough! Her aspect was that of the little people of Shokans, not one warrior like Goro. Now, revamp Sheeva and turn her into a gigantic monstrous creature and add incredibly powerful moves and size snd you will see. But as for now, Sheeva cant seriously be taken as an example in this discussion. Basically, you are just saying males will always be better and have more potential then females, when we have never seen a perfect example of sub-boss female to actually compare the 2. I will respect that opinion then, because I dont want my thread to turn into any kind of war. Peace. |
I'm upset? Umm ok, if you say so. Lol
Sheeva was definitelty tall enough, play MK3 or UMK3 again and see. Also, make Sheeva any more bigger and you'll ruin the whole female appearance.
She's a fine example, just you're not looking at it the right way.
Also I'm not just saying males are better then females like you claim. I give reasons and what not. If anyone is doing something like that, it's you.
Also, if you wanna get techinal, I'm going by some facts when you're going on nothing but the fact(figure of speak)that you adore female characters.

You make a good point, but it doesn't pertain to my post.
Skill can never be seen until they are in action, along with swiftness and battle experience. None of that can be seen which is the biggest factor on a sub-boss/boss. Look at all the sub-bosses, one thing they all had in common is brute strength. You want the first appearance to be strong, fierce and down right mean. A person with skill, battle experience, etc can't show that until it's too late and in MK, appearance is almost everything for a sub-boss.
Goro,Kintaro,Motaro were all beasts the first time you set sights on them. You didn't even think about skill or anything, you just thought, damn....he looks big and mean. That's what a sub-boss is all about imo.
Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks like this. Thanks all for backing me up, since this is a touching subject with some.

That is a great idea queve. It'd shake up the game a bit.

I still don't like the idea of a giant octopus type boss. I just feel that it simply wouldn't fit in the MK world. Maybe I need some more convincing or something. *shrugs* A female sub-boss, I wouldn't mind. It'd be something new in the MK games.

Thank you!
-NIGHTWOLF- Thanks for the kind words.
CMETH, its not a secret I love females, so whats your point? My facts are just as your facts. None are accurate.
The difference is that I do accept the fact that a male sub-boss is great and all, and it is obviously powerful, but you wont accept even the slightest opinion that a sub-boss female can be as bad-ass or better, when you have never seen one in Mk.
How does that make what you say an accurate fact? How is it a fact that a male sub-boss is better then a female when you have never seen one in mk?
Look, I have the feeling this is all going turn into a flame war, and I dont want that, so I will drop the subject now. I will stick to what I believe, and you with what you believe.
I'm basing my facts on other games and actual real life professional body builders.
Both GGX1 and 2 had females bosses, but yet I found the boss from GG(no X) to be the best and yes, he was a male who was bigger and badder. Just cause there was never a female boss in a MK game doesn't mean anything. A male and female are different to some degree no matter who is making the character. If you make it any different, then you're just mixing genders and are going to end up with trans genders.
Now look at professional body builders for a minute. The females can get big, but the biggest female is not bigger then the biggest male. Also, alot of those big females lose everything that makes them a female. So what's the point of having a big female(who looks like a man) in the game just for her sex.
Also, I said you adore females since it seems to cloud your judgment alot. With the way you word your stuff, it seems the female boss could look exactly like a male, big mean and ugly, but then what is the point of it even being a female? There is no point.
Also I'm not saying a female sub-boss couldn't be big and mean, just it would look even more bigger and meaner as a male. And if you make it as big as a male and all mean looking, then there is no point in it being a female in the first place.
Sorry for repeating myself somewhat. But it's needed.
