WARNING don't get too hyped up, over MK6

Since, the Baraka was first seen, I've noticed that people tend to be making a lot of speculations, just by viewing one photo. Now, no doubt, this is very excitng (for me also). But, remember, that the developement team has always been good at getting people hyped up, but, I think that we should keep letting them know what we would like to see, in the final game. Because, there are always things that don't happen in the game, as they say it will happen. I have hope for MK6, but I think that we will have to wait until more info comes out, before we will know if MK is really improving.


As GORGEUS as the render is, I can already see places where the character models still need to improve (a greater polygon count--notice the shape of Baraka's arm). This was the same case, in Deadly Alliance. I'm really not being picky. I know the developement team is working hard, on this, but that tells you that more polygons are need, to better round the character models.

You're assuming 100% of the people get "hyped" due to the elements of the game. I myself am "hyped" because of the fact the MK franchise is still going strong.

you right. with MK5 they said they were going to have free roaming arenas (like doa3), a deep fighting system, pit fatalities, at least 2 fatals per characters, battle damage to everything (including clothing), ability to steal oppenents weapons, and im sure there was a bunch of stuff. i still have the game informer that talked about it when it was early in developement, they promised a lot of lies in that thing. i ended up being dissapointed. I really hope they dont do that with this one.

i think Baraka face loks cheezy, but i dont based the game on just a render, and i also see the someone remeber that article in the PSM mag, well so far they did confirm stage fatalitys and that in it self is still a plus, and i am also glad MK is still going strong , but i would'nt mind seeing it at the top of the heep again:)

I thought all that stuff mentioned by SonOf100Maniacs was left out because the production was hurried and they simply didnt have time to add all those things.

I don't really get involved in hype with anything, including games. Your expectations are too high and you are usually disappointed. I didn't even know they were making a new Mortal Kombat when Deadly Alliance came out and thats why I found it so great, it was a complete surprise.

This forum has kinda messed that up for me with 6, but still I don't expet much from it, as long as it brings the usual kick ass MK style.

I'll keep postin around here and reading things, because I like some of the ideas that you guys come up with. I don't really think much of it will be in the next game but its still cool to think about.

When I saw the render of Baraka I simply thought "Cool Baraka might be making a come back". I didn't really care much after that.

Yes I bet there will be a major dissapointment in MK6... I wish it wouldn't but it always has been that way unfortunately...

I do remember too the promises for MK:DA, the real sweat and cloth ripping thing...

The reason they couldn't put all those things they promised was because they were too busy working on the fighting engine. That was their main goal. To execute a new fighting system. And I believe that the release date was what stopped them from putting in all those other features that they promised.

MK6 should have everything they promised since they have mastered making the fighting engine, so it should be easier now.

My expectations for MKDeception are very high. I expect MK(6) to have body damage/scarring, etc, background interaction, 2 fatalities, background fatalities, online play, etc.

u should not be dissapointed by the picture. its only a pre-render of him and the game aint comming out until near 2005, so they bound to be better. i meen, look at mk:da! the grapics are great and that was rushed, so imagin if they did not rush it!!

The picture did get most of us here hyped about MK 6. Thats why we come here so we can chat about the latest news and rumors on the game. Speculation about the game is most of the fun for us now until we get some solid information and game info.

Hopefully we will receive some more information in a very short time.

Well i dont know. when MKDA first came out i didnt like it. but i played it anyway and within a month of its release i loved it. im guessing the same thing is gonna happen with mk6. but i still cant help getting excited about it im mean come on its MORTAL KOMBAT 6

I think you have a good point in saying not to get to hyped. I was very hyped about MK: DA, there was a well thought out game, but yet it still had its faults. I was disappointed in the combo system because it did not seem to flow very well(not the animation). So when you see the Baraka render don't get to hyped. It is still a long ways before being finished.

yea man for sure but regardless of a few combos the game was great the way they ditched all the babalities and friendships and the idea to bring in the stage fatalities is cool and when they were first REALLY introduced in MK2 they were not disappointing at all and in DA the story was awesome for everyone, the fighting play was great, cept for the people that they try to rip off (I.E. Mavado, Scorpion)and Mokap was shitty so yea there are a few thngs not to get hyped up about cause there will be a few, mabey minor things that you wont like about it but just remeber this..............its F*Cken MORTAL KOMBAT
