Hello everyone and welcome to the first roundtable discussion about the rules for this forum. For those of you MKAC hardcores welcome thank you for coming. I am your host. Maverick3176. We have our esteemed panel including some distinguished moderators, some long time users and a few douchebags. Those present but will be silent will be the MKACadmin and his "brother" JTF who is here to spell check. Welcome gentlemen.

As the King of the Forum Ban and the King of Resurrecting Dead Forums I have unique perspective on rules. I have a few questions to pose to our esteemed panel and I would like input from everyone here. All input is welcome even some of the retarded ideas. Also when I say MKO...I am referring specifically to the Xbox Live Tournament portion of MKO.

1. The point of rules is generally to allow for a smooth flow of a system and allow greater access and use. How can a rule or set of rules be considered effective if fewer people are accessing it because of the restrictions rules are imposing?

2. If the enforcer of the rules has little regard for the outcomes that are caused by the rules (ie users leaving, nobody using the forum) then what is the point of having the rules or the enforcers of the rules?

3. All good systems (legal, communication, family, judicial etc) have some sort of feedback loop in which each part of the system acts as a checks and balance to other parts of the system. If not the system will degrade and eventually destroy or reorganize itself. In our legal system for example, when a law is poorly effecting the people, the people will ask their law makers to change the law so the people living under them are better off. If the law makers dont respond the people can vote them out. What checks and balance system does MKO employ so that the rules, users, mods etc work cohesively to prevent this site from becoming a useless system? Is this current system if any working and are there any other possible ways to improve the system?

4. How have MKO's positively impacted the site? How have they negatively impacted the site? Which impact has been greater.

5. In the last year, MKAC came around and many users left to go there. At a later point many users returned here. In the last 3 months almost ALL of the unbanned MKAC users went to MKAC and abandoned MKO with almost no new users coming to this site What were the main reasons for this ebb and flow of users? Was this exodus good or bad for this site and the MK community? What will the future be for MKO and the MK community?

6. What difference does it make if someone spams an empty forum. (Does a tree make a sound if it falls in the desert)

7. How long before Maverick is banned a record 4 times?

8. Who has deez nuts in their your mouth?

9. Is this a spam or an intelligent conversation in a sea of stupid threads?

10. Which Mav hater will respond first in this thread?

At this time we will take answers to these questions from the panel

winning or losing in a video game doesnt make you a better or worse person.
why is it that the PS guys get along over all but the xbox guys get banned?

1) because the rules were there before those people. and to be honest, theres what, 5 people left who post here?

2) read 1, and if people leave its their choice. play the fucking game, say gg's and move on

3) if you dont like it, then leave. dont put yourself in a position that isnt yours to make.

4) good - by helping the community, by busting their ass 9 hours a day for years making combo videos for them. for makign 8 hours of combo videos in one year.

bad -by making stupid threads, by asking the same shit over and over, etc etc.

5) this site is more then just the xbox people, they are part of the community. it doesnt revolve around just MKO and MKAC, it revolves around the community. the entire mk1 - mk8 community. etc etc etc

6) what difference does it make if you dont? either way, most people would chose you not do it then do it. common sense. if a tree falls and noone is around to hear it, then the tree still made a sound, just noone was close to hear the fall. common sense

You've made damn good simple points, Dan. I guess we, XBL guys, need to ask ourselves why other forums on MKO are in align with the rules yet we have fundamental problem with them. To be honest, I don't even think you need a rule to be able to know how to conduct yourself in a forum. I've never read them but my guess is that it falls along the lines of 'respect'.

I don't like to get all stupidly political about half of the non-sense we have going on here but it's almost impossible to not be because ironically, I actually started all these shit. It was supposed to be short and simple but it has become very complicated needlessly and so here we are today still entangled in the same shit.

Your points 1 and 5 are very precise and if we (XBL folks) can comprehend those 2 points then I see no reason why things wouldn't be normal just like on PS2 and many other boards here. We use the word 'MKO' here alot but we forget the very basic fact that XBL is just a part of a larger community.

what I find most interesting is that people respond to my idiotic threads all the time...this thread was meant to open legit conversation....my other thread about getting games got 1 response. Says alot about the people here...they respond to the negative shit.
@Check...the thing about the tree in the woods is not common sense...it is derived from an ancient japanese koan...i suggest looking up koan for the meaning of the word. Also your answer to #5 was interesting..but if you read the opener all questions were xbox community specific...so your answer didnt make sense in this context. Thanks for showing up though. Answers 10- Why do you keep posting if everyone hates you? Why wouldnt you move on to someplace where people actually like you and respect you? Anyway...i will answer your questions...its fun to come here. Also I dont care about respect (except self-respect)...because as you put so well ITS A FORUM. There is no respect to get at MKO because NOBODY is here when I am not. When was the last time you posted? Anyway...as far as embarrassing myself...who cares. I embarrass myself everytime i sing karaoke...but its still fun. I guess you are too consumed with leveling up your e-respect to understand. Thanks for coming though.

As far as my "e-respect", the way i see it is, if your serious about the game, you'll talk about the game. Thats respect enough. You wont go back to all this high school stuff about talking about people and complaining about how the forums are run. If you dont like it go elsewhere. Im sure thats why people dont post here anymore because they wanted to talk about MK in general. Not about who plays MK and what they said and how they play. Its a joke to most people now.

Shujink...i am not serious about the game...the game is dead. However, if you want to get some games in...let me know when you are on.

As far as respect...dude I dont care. If you or others respect me or not it will not help pay my mortgage or get me laid any more or less. Now i dont know about you...but why would anyone come to a board to learn more about a broken, dead, outdated game...i come here strictly for entertainment value...

btw...i just realized how i have decided i will be banned (that is of course if I am not banned before I do it). Its going to be funny. The only problem is that I am not sure I will get banned over it. I will probably ask Ghost dragon before hand if my post will be good enough to be banned over.

I don't want to add to this. But i think by posting i am anyways.

I just wanted to say that shujinkydink brought up a good point about high school. I am sure we all remember the pointless drama that encircled us every time we were at school. But i like to think most of us have moved past that.

It seems to me that Maverick's intentions are to be entertained and that is fine. I even kept up with the MKF war for a little but it got old and i stopped reading.

I skimmed through all mavs threads. (i use skim loosely) and i came to the conclusion that mav thinks like a high schooler. He works hard to sound smart on the internet because he is an internet warrior who takes pride in making others look stupid.

Have all the fun you want. Make fun of all the people you want. (even me) Just know how you look to everyone. You might not care but since this is...
MAVERICK'S LAST STAND, do you really want to be remembered the way people remember and think about DNCmegaman, MKF, and HorribleBlack? Do you really want to be remembered as a douche who looks like an idiot by calling others out on their mistakes (but thinks in his mind he is far superior to those who post here)?

Like i said i think i just added fuel to the fire but if you hadn't thought of it like that i hope i helped. I don't take you serious enough to care if you get banned again. I am content at MKAC. Ghost town or not this place is still a joke...Mav, you seem to be part of this joke.

Meso - correct me if Im wrong, but arent video games considered by most to be juvenile? Im no spring chicken, but at least I know when I play video games Im engaging in an activity that doesnt require a certain amount of "maturity" to enjoy. At least not at the college level anyway. Playing games is not juvenile. Well it may be...but i feel like its a matter of opinion. People like me who take the game seriously despite its low quality can find ways to make civilized conversations. Now juvenile or not i still feel that my last post was right on the money...but since Mav is now banned again i will not be able to hear his remarks.

So you're saying a 30 year old man (or however old mav is) should be expected to hang out on a game website and talk gibberish just because games are juvenile? I like Mav but all this jtf/mav stuff is old. I could care less if they wanna go back and forth but do it in 1 thread. Shit, at least 10 threads were made for pointless arguments. Just look at the first 10 recent threads. 8 out of 10 of them were started by Mav! I understand why they dont like eachother, I just dont care. I think people will come to MKO and MKAC if MK8 is a well thought out game and is made well. If MK8 sucks both MKO and MKAC will be a lot less busy. That is the future of MK sites.

MKDA was BADASS when I got it. That transition from MK4 to fully 3D, beefy characters, massive blood, and the fighting system (at the time was incredible to me).

I'd expect the same thing for MK8.

Even if it does suck, assuming the fighting engine is remotely as unique as last generation, it will be a long time before people discover why and how. Remember back to MKD... people played that game for a LONG time before people got tired of it's shit. By the time MKA came out, aside from simple wake-ups and some Aerial stuff, people already knew what it offered.

Basically... I don't see MKA happening again. MKA was just a next-gen MK Trilogy. I don't invest too much in it.
