No Sonya isn't in Deception as a playble character yet. She doesn't look like being in either. She may however be a secret character.

Many people on this site think that Sonya is dead. I don't though. There is no evidence to support this yet. She may be dead and the MK team are keeping it quiet as to shock everyone.

Sonya has been in every proper MK except MK2.

Back to topic, it seems very unlikely that Sonya will make the cut in the final roster UNLESS she is already there as a secret character.

I think you don’t need to worry about her. She is still alive.

I had been told that she and Rayden were back for this game, 100% playable, and since the Rayden info was accurate, I guess there is still a chance the Sonya part is accurate too.

But hey, she has been in almost all the games! If she neesds to take a break again, I think it’s cool, as long as she returns in mk7. That Im sure, if she is not in deception, she will most definitely return for Mk7.

i AM actually hoping she is in the game.. so that i may play vs queve.. have a sonya vs kitana match.. i have been waiting for this match for awhile now..

I absolutely agree with you. Sonya will return in Mk7. That’s the reason why Im actually happy she is not in deception.

If she had to miss one game again (to give others a chance since she has been around in all games) I pick deception. For I know (hoping) that Mk7 will be the best Mortal Kombat ever.

Im hoping Kira is actually Sonya undercover, so far nothing new about kira’s moves and fighting styles have been revealed.
Her character seems to be very hush hush, she also has a lot of similarities to Sonya from the ponytail to the boots she wears.

As much as I like the idea, I dont think it should happen.

Kira looks like a very original character. Thanks to that awesome red hair, she has my full attention. I wouldn’t want her to be someone in disguise. It would ruin a new character with potential.

I only hope to God Kira is no Sonya/Kano clone.

Keep Kira, but I agree with you. Sonya is a must.

That idea sounds really bad ass. Ive played MK since I was little and Ive seen Sonya from the first MK to DA and Ive always thought she was the best! Though its true it would kinda ruin the Kira character.... but still SONYA MUST RETURN!

P.S. As for Sonya VS. Kitana... Well if that fight ever happend, Kitana would be pleading for mercy before Sonya buried her heel into that spoiled little princess's face! lol

I don't think Sonya is necessary for an MK game. There, I said it. I think she's a great fighter, great story-line and potential, but, quite frankly, we need a break from her. When she comes back in MK7, she'll be better, and fans will like her more, but, while I'll miss the character and eye-candy, Kira, Jade, Mileena, Sonya, and Ashrah are more than enough estrogen-leved characters for me. Fatality.

Honestly, those that have said [in this and other threads] that she is not really necessary to the storyline.. well, what about Scorpion? Seriously. I have and will continue to say many classic MK characters need a story twist badly. Any character can be important if just WORKED on. Costume changes, fatalities and weapons are cool and all, but I play the game for the story as well.

Heh, the irony in this is that MK2 was probably the best MK yet. Could it be a sign?

You are absolutely correct with everything you said. Sonya is not the only character who needs a story twist, and her story is surely not the worst.

Scorpion, Rayden, Kano, Kitana are only some of the many examples of characters who need a change in their stories.

Any character can be important. Thats true.

I really want Sonya to be in MK:D, she's brutal, fast, gorgeous and NOT slutty (that's rare in a MK game )

And MK:D is gonna be the best MK ever, so she's gotta be in!
But I've got to admit.. she needs a better storyline... and if she needs to take a break from a game and later on MK7 make a comeback with a great story and amazing graphics due to the next generation system quality, then I guess that would be better, and I'd like that a lot.


Though Sonya is not the only one who needs to take a break... I wouldn't mind seeing Scorpion sitting out of a MK game (NOT Subby though! I like him too much!! ), but I guess we would never see a MK game without Sorpion... (though I guess that already happened in MK3)

I also think that maybe Sonya should sit this one out and return in MK7. I feel that her story needs a little sprucing up along with a few other characters.
