It's cool, but I wanted to play Sindel and now I'll have to unlock her. Li Mei too. And Hotaru. In fact, all of the characters I really want to play now are unlockables.

I thought Li Mei was selectable right off the bat. Making her hidden in order to put someone like Darrius as a starter? Lame.

Well, it's definately a change. I really don't mind. I think every character is turning out amazingly. Besides it's just a matter of time before we have them all.

It was confirmed by Gamespot's hands-on preview.

I'd rather all the new characters be in it with just Sub-Zero and Mileena. Fan favorites like Baraka and Scorpion need to be secret to make the fans work for them.

I think it's a great starting line up. I am gonna have to work hard to get Tanya now, but thats cool. Makes the game all the more playable if you need to earn characters.

The Gamespot videos were excellent, the movement, graphics and characters all look amazing and i really cannot wait till the game is commercially available.

I personally think they should've had most of the old characters instead of most of the newes. Since you would be accustom to the characters and build up the excitment to see what the new ones have in store!!

Bad_Girl_Love - Yeah, if I were making it, all the classic characters would be locked. Only new characters (and maybe the least popular of the returning) would be in the starting lineup so people work their butt off to play as the classics.
All this shows us is that nothing is for certain when it comes to the select screen. It's possible it will be completely different by the time it comes home.

If this is true, then the character select screen will change!!!!!!!! they are going to put characters in different places then they were in the previous character select screen!

I'm happy that Nightwolf is on still. That list isn't too bad I'd probably switch a few.

Like many above have said, I'm hella surprised Kabal made it on the default list. I mean, most of the characters were givens, like Sub and Mileena, but shit, Kabal? I don't think anyone saw that coming.

Overall, it's nice. Better than I expected.

Well this is a surprise! I was looking forward to starting as Sindel possibly. Looks like it'll be Kabal, Mileena or Ashrah now.

This roster is much more interesting than the line-up given in MK:DA.

In fact, the MK:DA rost really can't compete with the MK:D line_up cause to me this one is like the dream team with all these classic characters equiped with new and old special moves.
