What do You Think of the 'Gaming Violence Probe'?

It's not violent video games that kill people, it's just stupid kids that are given way too much liberty for their young age. I hope I never see a stupid kid in front of me with a knife or a gun, or I swear I'm gonna beat him half to death to give him a lesson .

And hell, millions of people have bought GTA3 and Vice City, and how much stupid kids have killed people under it's influence?? 2!!! 2 damn stupid kids!! 2 stupid of 14 and 16 y.o. that have found a charged gun or another sort of gun in their house (not the fault of the parents there!!) and they shot a driver in the rocky mountains. But it's the fault of GTA!! Hell are people stupid!!! Anything to innocent the stupid children!!

Like people have said, politicians are using games, movies, music whatever as easy targets to blame for why some kids are turning out badly, and then going out doing something dangerous or criminal, rather than looking at real reasons like poor education, broken down family life and shitty prospects for their futures.
Any decently brought up kid knows the difference between real and fantasy and that they can't do these things in real life. Me and most friends in my age group (I'm 22 now) were watching violent movies at young ages (I had a Freddy Kruger poster on my wall aged 7), but none of us turned into crazed phsyco lunatics. It's a parents/older sibling's job to decide what their kids can and can't watch, governments shouldn't interfere like this.
It's the whole "nanny state" gone too far, with governments wanting to control every aspect of our lives like we were sheep (Don't even breathe unless they tell you to!), and it gets more power with scare stories like "Nintendo killed my son!" or about how Maralyn Manson was supposed to have influenced the Columbine kids.

MK Deception has a potential target that politicians/news-media can exploit. One that GTA and Doom do not... With Deception's preposed Hari-Kari finishing moves, there could be an uproar of parents who use it as a scapegoat for teen-suicide. This is something the series has never had to deal with, and will undoubtedly add fuel to the anti-MK fire.
I would think (and hope) this wouldn't effect the inclusion of it in the game, even if enough people protested it, but it is still a potentially incendiary issue.
Please post your thoughts and comments on this.

I think it's pathetic. I think the youth can tell the difference between game violence and violence in real life.
While it may be true that kids know the difference from games and reality, it doesn't stop parents from using them as scapegoats when their misraised kids (or not raised at all) commit senseless acts of violence. Members of news and media exploit the fear, knowing that it will catch the eye/ear of many a parent... "The latest horror for your kids"?? Really all they are after is viewers. If they really cared about the youth of our generation, they wouldn't encourage parents and the kids themselves to pass the buck, and blame their actions on an outside influence like games.
I was going to post something up about violence video game when I saw Outside the Line on ESPN when they were doing a story on how sport video game is getting more violence. They were showing Midway MLB Slugfest, NBABaller and NFL Street and how these game are so unrealistic to the sport. I got really mad when they show this butt ugly professor that has the longest nose of a woman if she is one and a soccer mom that brought Slugfest for her son and sat down for the first time watching her son play it. The ugly professor was like these game don't represent the sport they are making and I study how violence video game affect the kid, and she said that she publish her report on a magazine that I never heard of.
This so call professor that study violence video don't deserve to be call professor. I guess she must publish her useless report to a magazine or wrote a book to be a professor believe I know because my professor must publish a book or to a magazine every year on his study at UNCC. But anyway the soccer mom is the worst she brought Slugfest for her son and never sat down or watch him play it once and when she does for the camera she over react like, I never know there a lot of violence in this sport game.
Then their was a debate over violence video game with the editor n chief of game informer and some guy that don't understand video game. The guy editor n chief of game informer sum it for NFL Street, he said the title is never meant to be a real NFL video game it is play on the street and the other guy was like well kid will not no the difference between the real NFL video game and then he said well how about NBA baller where you can buy women in that game, the game informer guy counter that with well it a fantasy game that don't mirror the real player or the sport and it meant to be different from other title. Then the guy got to bring in the Columbine, because that editor and chief from game informer where beating him. If you can catch Outside the line on ESPN and they showing the violence in a sport video game thing don't watch it because it just some bull** that they trying to blame video game.

Well one thing everyone has to take in mind is that only ruly stupid parents listen to these kinds of things, the problem is that stupid people scream the loudest and make the most controversy because they frankly have nothing important to say. You can always tell who an idiot is because they dont make their poitns with facts and eivdence, rather they scream and bitch and moan and won't let you get a word in edgewise.
