They should have some better lighting effects, so indoor levels are lit like they are indoors. - not like they are lit from the sun through the ceiling!!
Also i'd love to see them do something new with the camera- at least as an option. Fighting games seem to alway stick rigidly to the side camera- i'd like to see something a little more cinematic.
Oh yeah and you should be able to fall off to your death, and get to see it (long drop, spikes, magma, shark infested water, acid etc.)
Multiple levels could be fun- like in the x-men game: get knocked off and you take damage.

Well, I'm almost certain that there will be varying plane elevations. That's been the fad for about three or four years now. Though, it won't bother me if it doesn't come about. I would like to see a more effective wall system implemented into the environments.
We all know Boon and Co. have said they're going to work a great deal on the interactivity of the environments. I think we'll see more damage inflicting interactivity along with larger or varying planes.

yeah this hasnt really been talked about much, its just been all "i want human smoke back, wank wank wank".
id like to see a little more interactivity (is that a word?) too. perhaps a small hazard in every stage-like the buddahs in mkda.
id also like to see the game try to retain a classical feel to it-more of that eastern style feel it used to have from the first mk game-hell maybe even revisit 1 or 2 levels from mk or mk2, it could look nice in 3d. perhaps the courtyard with shang tsungs old throne in the background?
but obviously new stages need to brought into play, and all they need to be is simply well thought out (ie: does this have a typical mortal kombat feel to it?).
i know this isnt really what the threads about but like everybody else, id like to see at least 2 stage fatalities.
whoa all this talk about original levels makes me wanna play mk...in fact i think i just may go do that...

I really hope they get away from the small fighting area in a huge expanse of eye candy. I would rather a smaller level that you could fight almost everywhere instead. (DOA3 style)
As was mentioned above, bring back the feeling/style that the MK1/2 stages had. Old stages re-done although that would be nice, i don't think should happen unless they fit the story (or like in mk2 when u fight jade/smoke/noob).

Huge, multi-level AND interactive!

One stage I wanna see in a new MK is something like the Warriors Shrine in MK1. It'd be pretty cool to have 3D statues of older/dead MK fighters and smash them up.

I always thought that DOA's levels were nothing to bust a nut over. I mean they were pretty but the whole idea of "multi-tiered" levels pretty much meant falling somewhere. I would like to see the ability of one character to stand on a table, do a sweep, and kick the opponent (not on the table) in the face.

Or the guy on the ground could smash the table legs, or grap the edge and toss it up into the air with the other person on it....
I heard some talk of interactive elements, and picking up weapons off the wall, or having spikes on the wall or something. This stuff would rock.

i think that if there is a road o path you should be able to take it like in kutan palace there was a path up to the throne you should have been able to go there or in palace grounds you should havce been able to go into the palace or outside in to the woods or fields. Like duh duh duh WWE games where yo could laeve the arenas and stuf except rather than you bothe have to walk on this triangle it would be more gradual loading so you could fight every where in the whole level with out loading,
yeah a new warrior shrine would be great, imagine all the statues!!
Interactive objects that you can jump on and use to defend yourself etc would be good, so long as they work them in well, or you might end up with the weapon system from MK4, its there but you just don't use it coz just wasn't very good.
And no invisible walls either, if i get kicked into a wall i would like it to be a real one.

DoA levels are goregeous indeed. I totally agree on the multi teir levels. It's pretty lame, IMO. You get knocked through a wall, fall for a few seconds, then land fight for about 10 seconds, then fall for a few more. It gets really annoying after about two falls. I pray to God that won't be the case in MK6. All it does is slow down gameplay, unless you can actually do shit while you fall, like toss out FB's and what not.

yeah i personally thought that took a lot away from mkda, even though it was such a small thing.
just doesnt seem right.

Levels should be interactive as they told us MK:DA would be. If it looks like you can walk over to something, then you should be able to walk over to it. Your freedom to roam should only end when there is a wall or an edge. If they create such beautiful backgrounds, then why not use them. in example - Shang Tsungs palace exterior had the bridge goin' over the river and had all the potential to be the "PIT V". The death scene could have been the drop itself, jagged rocks,pirrhana-like fish,or some sort of Outworld water creature/s. Could you imagine the water turnin' red from the bloodshed? I can picture it.- The Lung Hai(?) Temple was supposed to have the sacred water beast eat you after the gates were raised. Portal stage could have had you get knocked up in the air only to be inpaled by one of the 2x4's or knocked into the portal to be transported to a lion's den, a den of Reptile's race, wastelands of Outworld where nomadic mutants await, etc. - ACID BATH - what acid bath? what wrath?
what does everyone think the stages should be like? - in a word FATAL!

well I can say one thing, there will be STAGE FATALITIES. That has been a confermation due to the public outcry over the lack of them in mk5.
I think there needs to be interactive objects that you use a combo to use, like grab your opponent and shove their head into a fan or something like that. Maybe dunk them in a pot of acid. It wouldn't be a fatality kind of thing, jsut another move you could use. Bash their head in the wall. Throw opponent into walls/statues etc.
They also need to be able to throw opponents through doors and windows or something so if you start the fight inside, you can move it outside. That would be sweet.

I want to see multi level and highly interactive stages. The fighters should be able to run up/down stairs, climb objects, hide under them, stand on top of them, etc.
There should also be various objects to use against opponets. Such as weapons on the floor, walls, or even regular objects that can be picked up and used like tables, etc.
There should also be stages with hazards that players can knock their opponets into to inflict damage. Some examples should be fire, lava, broken glass, breakable tables, statues, etc.
Of course their should also be a really brutal and unique stage fatality attached to EACH stage. Some good ideas: lava, acid, flames, spikes, shark/alligator/monster infested water, ovens, machinery, etc.
C'mon Midway I know you guys can be more creative than the levels in MK5!
