Dumb asses!!
For the love of all things Good!
Ed Boon Has said there are su characters in three different places.
1). E3 live demonstration.
2). Gamespot interview with that chick. Over the summer.
3). In Gamepro magazine, in AUGUST. So if they scrapped them, then they scrapped them in the last month of production.
Here's the direct quote.
"Deceptions lineup consists of 24 fighters-12 that are availible at the start of the game and another 12 that can be unlocked. -"And then there are some super unlockable ones," says Ed boon. "Those are the ones you dig up in Konquest mode way after you are done with the game. "

Heres a fucking link if you don;t believe me. Now stop whinning like little girls in pink petty coats being beaten up and down the country with large foam fingers and use you time to look for the SU's or simply enjoy the game.
This debate over the fact that there "are no hidden characters" is both annoying and pointless. Debating their existance won;t help only looking for them will.
Rant Over.

How 'bout this for a novel idea? Write Midway. I did. I wanted to know whether I should get the PS2 version now or wait until the inevitable Gamecube version (with its bonus characters... you know they'll be there.) Anyway, I got a reply that, while it still pisses me off that they said they didn't know any new details on the Gamecube, they assured me that there were more than 24 characters. And that's recent, for all you nay-sayers saying "oh, well that's too old to be reliable". Argue all you want. Just try the source (even if it wasn't Boon himself. Boon-baby, I know you're reading these threads. Enjoy the fruits of your labor... at are expense.) *Sigh* "Just keep searching, just keep searching, just keep searching, searching, searching..." Fatality.

regardless if there are or are not more unlockable characters or content who cares? We dont need to argue over it either way. Personally, I am advancing my Konquest clock up as far as it goes ( assuming it stops or resets) and if that unlocks something great, if not, great I wanted to see how far up you can advance the time anyway.

P.S. For everyone who said "ZZZZ' to my article. If you didnt like it you should have stopped reading, no one forced you to. It not my fault your guys don't have a long enough attention or that you can't realize this is an important issue on this site as of late. Just don't post, your not helping.

Actually, we are helping. Your insipid post was paramount to zealotry. You further hurt your cause by telling others to "shut up".
By posting what I did, someone else posted a link to the actual videos in which Ed Boon made his statements regarding the number of characters in the game.
Unfortunately we are not much closer to definitively stating how many playable characters are in the game. This can be primarily attributed to Ed Boon's (?intentional?) vagueness in his interview.
Now, if you had done your homework and supplied evidence to support your point of view, your post would have looked more like this:

For all of the pessimists out there who believe that there are only 24 playable characters out there, I submit the following link:
http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/mortalkombatdeception/media.html
The fourth video down is an interview with Ed Boon in which he states, "The main grid of characters that you choose from is gonna [sic] be 24, but there's going to be more than that in the game".
While some may argue that "more", in this context, refers to non-playable characters found in Konquest Mode as opposed to playable ones, I believe that Ed is referring to playable characters. Ed further states, "You know we really wanted to have a lot of stuff that's hidden in the game that's not really apparent on the main select screen". Evaluating the first statement in the context of Ed's second statement leads me to believe that Ed was referring to extra characters that were selectable, but not obviously so.
For those who still disagree, please refrain from discouraging others to continue searching, as not only is our belief of extra hidden characters well-founded, but, more importantly, we're having fun. So don't spoil our fun. glasses
Thanks!

You guys need proof, then go check the I-guide website.
Go to the mk mini website and the bonus content section.
In there it says that there are two super ulockables and they are so secret
that we cant reveal them.but the good thing is that they said they will reveal them soon.

As for people asking for/if Boon to specifically mention the term super unlockable, he won't super unlockable is a term that started among the fans...

Actually, based upon the contents of a link someone else posted (http://www.mksecrets.net/images/newsarchive/2004/na-august/image11.jpg), Ed Boon does use the term super-unlockable:
-- "and then some super-unlockable ones," says Ed Boon. "Those are the
ones you dig up in conquest mode way after you're done with the game."
Have fun!

Ed Boon also said in 1993 that Ermac would be in MK2. Keep dreaming.

Well there has to be something else you have to do besides beating Konquest to get the SU, because you can only get Raiden after you beat Konquest, but he isn't a SU of course.

I'm personally awestruck that a simple debate on whether or not there's more than 24 playable characters in deception turned into a flame war. I'm not taking sides, I'm just gonna wait a couple months and see what turns up. If there is extra characters that's awesome, if not it's not that's fine also. The world's not going to end if there's no super unlockables.

Assuming that article, as in the image provided where Boon says "Super unlockable!", is actually from BOon and not taken fromsomeones interpretation as it is elsewhere then i ahve to say that is usefull infromation!
It'd be nice if people could provide these pieces of information without calling everyone else names though, what's up with that? Seriously? Can we atleast try to resolve this business tactfully please? Posting evidence is good and helps everyone, shooting your mouth off just upsets people if nothing else.
Play nice children! Btw mY personal theory is that we're probably not going to hear much from Midway untill the game is out in europe! (It'd kinda suck if all the secrets were broken before the game was even released eh?) Hardly a reason to stop trying to find stuff on your own but still!

Not really quiet. Now that Deception is out, and I have it in my PS2, I'm more or less worried about stuff in the next game coming out that I want; GTA:SA. Plus, I've usually been able to crack game secrets when I play them anyway, so I didn't feel I needed to ask. But if I don't find any hints or clues as to more characters or hidden content without the next week or so, I am going straight to him and asking.

Yeah their are more than 24 characters in the game. Thus super unlockables as Boon has said in the GAMEPRO Mag a few months back. He said that the addation bonus characters that you unlock( besides the main grid of 24 characters) are unlockable when you discover them in Konquest mode. No you don't have to beat the game with everyone on hard without using a continue to unlock Motaro or anyone else to unlock a character Boon has said all the stuff is in Konquest.
