I would have to say Liu Kang would be the old school character that I am happyest to see back.
Liu Kang had been my best fighter during the MK3 games. I liked his moves and his fatalites alot, I am not too fond of the noises he makes but when I learned alot of combos with him and I tore shit up in the arcades.
I would love to see how Liu Kang plays now with the new fighting engine and the new move sets each characters have. I think his fighting style is a branch style of Gung Fu which was Bruce Lee's. It actually suits him well because his character was inspired by him.

Ermac, Kabal, and Millena.

I like noob and smoke, and all those not-so-good characters that deserve a nd chance since they really do have potential! (Tanya, Li Mei, Nightwolf, Kabal -Sorry kabal fan don't hate me-)
Also Baraka and Mileena... they are like Sonny and cher.... hate eachother's guts now but they are nothing withut eachother

Smoke, of course. Yeah, he's playable through Noob, but he's still a physically seperate character that's selectable. Still, he's back, and he looks good. And from what I've seen, his story hasn't been completely messed up.
