no theres always a champion in mk its always been liu kang look at the intro movie but everyone has already said its most likely kung lao i think so also

I'm hoping Shang Tsung and Quan Chi "survived" the attack from the earth realm fighters (but not killing any of the major characters at that point in time)...and successfully brought back the Dragon King and his army...which should be highlighted in the Intro of MK6...but then have the Dragon King turn on them....maybe have the Dragon King kill someone in the opening Intro...you can take your pick...Quan Chi, Shang Tsung...or Raiden...it should be one of these 3 in my opinion...my choice would be Raiden, because it would have much more of an impact on the storyline.

Shang Tsung and Quan Chi wont be left out of the next game... Shang died like 3 times already and i think Quan Chi died once already.

Well, mkwarriors.net did post that he and Kitana defeated the Deadly Alliance. Which makes sense since they killed Kung Lao's friend and Kitana's lover.
