Ditto, I haven't got the online thing yet. I haven't looked into it yet. Is there some way I can buy an unlimited online account cause all I see in the stores is the one year thing and other bull crap stuff that is a scam....

Otrher thant the fact that I don't like Deception over MK: DA, I am sick of lag(not bad lag, but laggy enough to miss or hit people),cheaters, and throwers I've stopped playing Deception all togther. Also other than the fact that Deception's gameplay is a huge downer for me when you attack you have slow recovery time thus not making it non agressor friendly. Online would have been good, but human players abuse 1 move/combos/special move too much. There is no point for me of fighting with those elements(lag,cheaters, and repeated throwers). I'll stick with MK: DA till MK7 rolls out.

I hear you but i'm not feelin' you. Online play is all we got. You just have to hope you play someone who actually has some skill. 1 move/throw/special abusers are annoying though. You can't blame them if they're winning. I don't have fun that way so I don't play like that. My thing is making you waste your breakers then using the longest branch combo in my arsenal that hopefully juggles .

dont get me wrong. I have played 1000 games online. I love the game. I also give credit to the cheap players because we all are cheap in ways. I just think it has made me lose interest in playing quicker because it is very easy to be 125/15 or so with dairou or darrius by their cheap tactics. It makes it not so fun to play. I am just thinking of getting DOA for something new.

wow i knew online play would do this....that is why i am willing to see what hte gamecube version is going to be like...if they put something in the game in place of the online feature that will make people go wow i think the nintendo version is going to be better...

I play online for the Playstation 2 and I am not sick of the online play. There are always going to be cheap fighters in fighting games. Its just the way it is. What isn't cool are cheaters and people that can't take a beating. Thats what ticks me off. But like I said, there are always going to be those that can do the cheap stuff.
I mainly play online Kombat with my friend Shang-H. He doesn't cheat, he is just THAT good. Hes beaten me plenty of times by combos I thought were cheap or rediculous but its really because he know what hes doing.

boy am I ever sick of them. All I ever get is the same people who pick the same character and do the same move/combo over and over. "Yawn". OK... so usually they're beating me by using this tactic, which pisses me more off, because im the one trying to teach them a lesson into choosing a diff. character every once n a while. When I try to find someone to play against.... I look at their record. If they're REAL good... it means they're REAL cheap.... so I stay clear from those peeps. But even when I do find someone with a 50% record (like me)... those people are cheap also. When that happens.... I simply just play Puzzle.... which takes skill (and maybe some luck) where no one can be cheap

I actually quit MK:D online for PS2 entirely. I was ranked 4 in Chess Kombat for a long time, and I was always between 130-ish and 500 or so in Versus Kombat, and that's WITHOUT abusing grabs and special moves.
I've never ONCE tele-thrown anyone. I believed in playing with skill. I'd often win entire Chess games without using a single special move. I use combos, no cheese, I very rarely grab, and I usually let people get up without rushing in hitting them as they go down after I nail them.
But nobody else online cared about skill. It was cheese all the way. I hate that "whatever wins" crap. And so I quit. I was tired of playing skilless idiots that keep telethrowing, or abusing Darrius/ Dairou.
Pathetic.
I even had a small clan going for a while, where all the members of it played like I do. No moves, no grabs. Just pure skill. We all got sick of the way the other idiots play.

i played someone on xbox today that has been in the top 50. we both played our "cheese" guys and also played lieu kang vs lieu kang....awesome matches. LOOK im NOT saying CHEAP is SKILLless....because quite honestly a win is a win and it is psychological in guessing 50/50. That is ok. It just gets OLD. I agree with finding people with like 300-200 losses because they are experienced and dont care about just winning to win. I admit I will use darrius if people are being cheesy....its just not FUN. Anyways My xbox tag is cdiesel for those that want to play. I am learning lieu kang right now. I mainly used baraka but dont play complete 50/50. i also dont really care about wins vs losses so i am all about playing other characters if you want to try to learn other ones as well. My record is like 550/350 or somethign like that.

I wouldn't say I am sick of the online play because of a few cheap moves. I am sick of the fact that the inadequate connection still exists. I am more upset with gamespy than the players. Dairou's move is by far the cheapest move in the game because it occurs so fast and sets you up for combo. I wish the move was a littler slower and it wouldn't be as bad. During online play, just try and adapt to the players fighting style. I got upset that a guy used Dairou and beat me the first match and refused to play me again....like he was too worried about his stats; just play the game and give me a chance to learn your style. I have found ways to beat the noob-smoke lovers......be a good close fighter that can kick some ass(kang or baraka are good against the noob players). For people who love to block or throw(especially the raiden users who love the morph and throw), use Kobra and pull out the Kali sticks.....you can hit high, low, and mid with some basic moves which throws the blockers and throwers off their game. Once raiden morphs, hit away and button 3; this will spin the sticks and prevent the throw.

how is this any different than any other mk game, m2 KItana, mileena, jax, mk3 . nightwolf, sub, umk3 jax, kung lao, ERMAC, mk4 scorp fujin, tanya... all the same, people used the one combos in those games over and over. adapt, u cant play a fighting game on equal plane... u like going combo, block, counter combo... and trust me darrius and dariou are the least of your problems.... fear BO RAI CHO.......hes the one to start worring about and anyone who has played on live and faced me should no what im talking about... so keep droping, quiting, crying.... this is what mk has become, so deal with the broken game and adapt... the more u play the more u get used to it, and will be quicker to counter, combo throw, etc.

Yeah the online is getting kinda frustrating. I've played 3 different people so far who do the Dairou tactic: change to weapon stance, do the backslam and kicking fireball, whatever that is, and combo you with the backslam/4 hit weapon combo over and over. I got so sick of it that usually when someone picks Dairou I just leave the game.
Funny thing is, when you start beating the cheaper players or the repetetive combo players, they get really frustrated. One Dairou guy I was fighting lost to me 4 times in a row when I started handing him his ass with Baraka. After that, he went into stage select from that point on, picked Falling Cliffs each time, and did nothing but try and force me off the edge. After I practically won 2 matches in a row but was dicked by a death trap, I decided to stop playing him.
I'm not one to complain about this really, I lose gracefully. But when I lose to someone with no skill, or someone who only does the same crap over and over, I have no desire to play anymore. And that's basically 90% of the people I play online. The rest of the people I play are fun to play against, but like other people on here, I have been victim to people using codebreakers or other cheat devices...I've seen instant Hara Kiris, healing, double/triple damage...unfortunately its very easy to do on console online gaming. I have 2 friends that I play against now, and that's it
occasionally i'll play against random people, and they'll be pretty good. But the online is dead to me...I used to say that people who complain about Dairou because they keep losing to him need to shut up, but now I do agree...in the hands of a cheap player, he's a nightmare. But then ANY character in the hands of a cheap player can be a nightmare...need I mention Baraka, Darrius or Jade?
There's a big difference between cheap players, unskilled players, and just generally GOOD players. Unfortunately the line is getting thin, and starting to blur.

shang i couldnt agree with you more. Sounds like you have the ps2 becasue i dont encounter double damage or anything like that on the xbox version or id like to play you. I actually dont think baraka is that cheap just a frusturating player to play. I use baraka quite a bit and a cheap nightwolf or kobra can usually hand me my ass because his moves are easy to see coming. The ONLY thing baraka really has is the 50/50 of throw follow up with d+u 3 to chop chop blades or follow with a throw if they are blocking. So it comes down to guessing what the opponent will do. Now if they block my chop chop blades, then I am vulnerable to a counter. Now IF I think they will block the chop chop and i go for a throw but they arent blocking..i am set up for another counter...its all guessing and that is FAIR strategy when using baraka. Now IF i am guessing correctly.....well of course that will SEEM cheap because I guessed they would block AFTER I threw them...so I THROW them again..then they stay low or try to counter after the throw and I beat them to the chop chop blades...very confusing..but very true!

throw is a button on the controller. use it or dont - it's just another attack.
block it low.
if you do get thrown, just pretend u got hit with any other high attack and get on with th game.
is all someone does is throw then it should be pretty easy to see it coming.
death traps are death traps... turn em off and host yer own game if you dont like it, otherwise get over it.
above all, you should remember that when your bitching about online play because you dont like your opponent, you are basically complainig about MK being a 2 player game.

Then I'm gonna whip your ass with lightening speed so bad you won't land on the floor for over 5 seconds. 15 hit, 45% combos up the ass, and you don't have time to think about blocking. God forbid your near a deathtrap. Godforbid your HALF A STAGE AWAY from a deathtrap. one popup, your ass is gone.
Noob Smoke:
I'm going to charge you so fast and from so many directions that you won't have a chance to think. And I will throw about 10 times per GAME (not round). Smoke clouds like a motherfucker, but I'm NOT a turtle. I never stop attacking. TONS of juggle combos, 13+hit combos, and you'll stand up right into a smoke cloud. God forbid you try attacking me.
Baraka:
Hardly any throws, also aggressive, and never stops attacking. Combos, throws, special moves, the works. Try to think long enough to counter me.
Shujinko:
Once all your combo breakers are gone, I'm going to unload about 3 different combos on you, which ALL take over 50% damage.
Nightwolf:
The second you block, your ass is gonna be electrocuted by God. The second you DON'T block, I'm gonna charge you with combos and special moves. But your damned if you block, damned if you don't. Tough shit, your going down. :)

But why play as the cheap characters? Play as... Li Mei, Havik, or.... Hotaru. I never see anyone playing as them. So I usually play as them for the hell of it. It beats having to play as characters I've already played with a lot online. If I can beat someone with Liu Kang... I already proved I can beat em with Liu.... so I'll move on to another character. Why can't people do the same? Do records really matter? Shit... it's just a game!

Yeah I think who ever is crying is doing all of the losing around . I am on xbox and my record is 1010wins - 175 losses . I am above average player but usually get owned by Jade players =( hehehehe
The fact of the matter is . . . . . if someone is doing the same move over and over and over again ! ! ! ! I would think that around the 3rd to 5th time you should be able to figure it out . I mean it is all patterns . You get knocked down I walk up to you , you stand up so I throw . If you are ducking I use overhead . I can help it you suck and cannot figure to roll off of the ground or some other counter to the throws .
As for cheap players I play Shujinko who has no 50/50 combos which makes him really weak to me . Even though he does take massive damage those combos are very hard to get off and I still get called cheesy and repetative(spelling) . The fact is if you did not fall for the same thing over and over I would not do it . It is fun to me because I am thinking man how can he lose 10 times in a row and to the same combo/throw/50/50 move . It makes me laugh now . HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
