Agreed, I'd love to see Rain return as a hidden character. It still might happen, who would have guessed that Nightwolf would return? Just goes to show that anything's possible.

Rain kicked butt but NIghtwolf has his lightning move.....

HIs story wasnt bad.........and I would give him hte ninja outfit as an alternate.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rain back, as long as he has his own look. IMO, he shouldn't have been a ninja.

Sareena was one of Quan Chi's demon assassins from MK:Mythlogies. She helped Sub-Zero defeat Quan Chi because she wanted him to help her escape from the Netherealm, but she was shot in the back by Shinnok.
In MK:TE for Gameboy Advance, we find out she didn't die, but her human form was destroyed. Her spirit was sent to the fifth plane of the Netherealm as punishment for her betrayal. She manages to escape through the portal Quan Chi and Scorpion used to escape. Once in Outworld she finds a way to regain her human without Quan Chi's help and Sub-Zero lets her stay with the Lin Kuei in return for her helping his older brother.

What TemporaryUserName said, down to the letter. I hated him. I don't understand how anyone with such a stupid-looking roundhouse kick special could be so popular.

If that wasn't bad enough, his story is boring.

To further that, he had the worst fatality in history. Don't pretend you forgot about that uppercut. I never will. The lightning was OK, though.

But if they improved him, gave him a radical new design and story, I'd be ok with him.

Dude. He had a 100% combo in Trigoly, plus Ermac had a horrible fatality as well. A rip off of Johnny Cages fatality.

His 100% combo was involved with his super roundhouse, I don't think it's stupid.

I'm not questioning the originality of the moves, I'm questioning their appearance. That roundhouse and that uppercut fatal looked stupid. Ermac may have ripped off Cage's uppercut, but at least it didn't look too bad.

And characters with 100% combos, regardless of how hard they are to do, need fixing. There should be no such thing. That, and big combos do not a good character make.

rain coming back would be awesome... in fact i want all of the "ninjas" back.. we have them all confirmed except for what rain and reptile? damnit better have reptile in it and rain as well... at least as hidden characters... with the overhaul each character has gone through now i don't want to hear any bitching about pallet swap clone ninjas it's just not an issue anymore so there is no reason not to have all of those characters back... as far as rain goes i've had hope he'd be back but im a little discouraged by nightwolf having his lightning move... are they going to both have it if he is indeed in? or is this just confirmation that rain is scrapped.. or maybe they had rain in mind when they made the move and then just stuck it to nightwolf who knows... i just hope he is in it... more characters the better.... but they better get rid of that super roundhouse bs...

Rain can be a decent character if he is brought back. I doubt he'll be playable in Deception, but maybe secret or in Konquest? But I feel that his lightining attacks could be enhanced and look awesome in 3D. There are many returning ninjas in MKD, so probably not for a while but he'll be back - as soon as Edenia is developed more into the future story...

I can't believe there's a forum on this. The question should be who doesn't want him to come back I doubt theres one person who doesn't want him back I mean he was awesome. But I heard I think they gave his moves or some of his moves like his lightning bolt to nightwolf maybe I'm wrong. But I bet if they didn't he'll be a secret character. because i think there will be at least 6 secret characters making the number of playables 30 but maybe there'll be more or less won't know until the games out.

some1 posted earlier that rain is dead. hes not dead. in mk trilogy his ending said that kitana told him that they were both born on the same homeworld. and then rain fought kahn and won. and then went into hidding. yes bring rain back.so far u have every ninja so y not go the distance.

During the whole MKIII ninja-pallet-swap ordeal, Ermac, Rain, Noob Saibot, and a few others were basically deemed unoriginal knock-offs of other characters. However, with MK:D coming out, and Ermac sporting a new, nifty, original look (Reptile, of course, is quite different), I think Rain has a very good chance at coming back, new outfit and all, and may actually be a pretty good character. Regardless, he's still better than Stryker. Fatality.

Good sir, whatever it is you are smoking is illegal.

MKT's ending explicity stated that Rain went on a suicide mission in order to take down Kahn. If Rain's ending did happen, then he is dead. He didn't go into hiding.

But there's no proof that it did. Rain fans, your best hope is to pray his ending did not, in fact, take place.

Cage died...and was brought back...Kang died and was brought back...next...rain died and trust me will eventually be brought back to reign havoc on anyone in his path!

Hell Yea. The Ninja were the best in my opinion. I would like to see them all return. We already know of almost all of them being in Deception.
