If the traditional mk uppercut doesn't fit into the characters fighting style, it wouldn't make sense to put it there.
But I also love that mk uppercut! Was a very effective, quick & simple move to do.
However if you put that old uppercut in there, you just have to bring back the old roundhouse kick too! That move was just as good, if not better than the uppercut! I used the RH kick alot in VS battles/tournaments. It could counter alot of basic moves, jumping kicks, and some special moves such as Mileena teleport kick in MK2.

I think subzero has the old uppercut and the old rounhouse kick, though not as powerfull!
Surely you can see why it's not there though? Everyone has those moves where you fling them in the air, so they are the equivalent of the uppercuts i think!
Would be nice to finish my scorpion combo with an uppercut i must admit!

ya i should, but it shoukd be a button like a taunt or power up, but instead uppercut, they need to make it quite weak though.

Sure, I agree they were cool!
I read on a previous post that someone suggested that they should create a different style for classic moves like the uppercut.

Only Boss like characters should be able to perform this powerfull move, and Jax should be able to, perhaps as a special move.
I liked the yelling the characters did when hit by an uppercut (for example in MKT).

IMO, it should return, but only either as a reversal (like by pressing the Special Button, the character dodges the attack by ducking and uppercuts) or as a finisher. In the case of it being a finisher, it could be triggered even if the stage doesn't have a Stage Fatality, eg. by going into the Fatality Stance and pressing Down + Any Attack. By the way not every Stage Fatalities could be done that way, only the Pit ones. Acid Bath and Lava Shrine ones should have their own combination...

They gotta bring it back for pit stages and stuff like that definately.
It wouldn't ruin the game if they brought it back. It will kinda fit in. Maybe to do the uppercut you will have to charge it up for a sec.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, it's still in the game. Maybe not just as hold down and punch, but many characters have it (sub, quan, etc.) and others have different launchers. I think having a variety of this kind of move is better than the old uppercut even though it was one of THE coolest moves in a video game (in its time).
