Excellent past and story but poorly continued in MK4
No special moves of his own (Ripped off Shang poorly)
One game wonder
Absoloutely easy boss to beat even on max difficulty

Intriguing character, but his story ruined him
No continuation of story and that ending screwed him
No proper development

Stryker

Lame moves
Looked stupid
Awful story
No proper development

Because thy are lame and unorigonal, and dumb i think stryker is arguable the the second dumbest charactor ever put in the game. they just. Not as Fun or as coool as Raiden or Sub or Kung Lao ,get it?

Reiko is an intriguing character like Tgrant said

And possibly the only mysterious character in the game who is not a ninja or a rip off of another character(like Kano-Jarek for example)

I like them maybe I am one of few ones that likes this characters. I specially like Shinnok

I liked Shinnok and Reiko.. i can't wait to play as them again!.....Stryker was lame i really hope they have improved him loads!!

shinnok can have a awsome storyline like didn't he like have a war with the elder gods, if like you beat the game with him his ending video be like him going to war again and win and maybe they can make some sick moves for him he's cool i don't hate
rekio well i remeber him there was a whole rekio is kahn thing going around, but he looks sick in MKA but i guess people hate him because he is kinda a shao kahn copy i don't mind him stryker y hate him he hasn't been in mortal kombat since trigoly i love trigoly i have it to, alright back on topic ya well stryker can do alot for story line like kobra used to be in trouble with the cops and then he join the black dragon stryker could be like trying to tracking down kobra and take out the black dragon i don't hate him my hate these guys they could make a awsome storyline i think so

Shinnok is a cool character, but was just poorly done in MK4. Reiko was mysterious and cool, but was the same as Shinnok, poorly done. The reason I think everyone hated Stryker is because he was just too normal for MK. We wanted cool, interesting characters and a cop was just dull. But he looks way improved this game, so I'm happy.

I dont mind any of them as they all look better in MKA. I hope they are as good as they look.

Storywise Reiko is best because of the thing with Kahn which i still dont fully understand

I hate Stryker. hes useless but both Shinnok and Reiko will kick ass in this game because their storylines *SHOULD* make sense and have more meaning... imo

my thoughts exactly i duno y everyone dislikes stryker though...hes just like all other mortals, caught in kahns invasion, exept he doesnt have the luxury that other mortals have, like shoot fire balls, shadow kick, or shoot rings...he uses firepower...which would proly be me.

I think its just because hes a steroypical cop, with a gun, without a mustash though. Man i gotta make Magnum on KAK.

1. I think Stryker is a little too modern for Mortal Kombat, but at the same time I find it odd since Cyrax, Sektor, and Robo-Smoke are quite modern too. However, Cyrax, Sektor, and Robo-Smoke have a cool look which brings me to #2.
2. He is too human. He isn't very original since he uses everything a normal human would use (i.e. a gun) in combat whereas the others have fireballs, multiple arms, and missiles that shoot out of their bodies.
3. His storyline isn't that great. Again, his storyline is too "normal". We expect storylines to be really interesting but at the same time easy to follow and understand. I don't think anyone really knew the reason why Stryker was in Mortal Kombat and his storyline was boring. That caused his character to flop.

The one character in question that I actually like a lot is Reiko. I personally think he has a lot of potential. He (like Shinnok, Fujin, and Kai) made his start on quite possibly the worst MK ever made and unlike Tanya and Quan Chi, Reiko has never had a chance to recover by coming back into a game. I think all of the MK:4 characters will have a popularity boost in MK:A.

I find it hard to believe how khameleon, Drahmin and Mokap are talked about more then Styker, Shinnok and Reiko are lol.

These 3 aren't the best Mk characters but far from the worst IMO.Stryker is the original cop character that's good, so I like him for that.

His moves leave something to be desired but did indeed improve in UMK3/MKT.

Shinnok was so far one of those one hit wonders, but should have given him different moves then Shang Tsung with the morphs.

Reiko looks like and evil nightwing or obvious son possibly or something of shao kahn imo which is why he's hated I believe.Potential for more but ok so far.

Khameleon is still worse then all of these guys though easy lol.

I've always liked Stryker, and I'm glad he finally returned.

Shinnok did rip off Shang Tsung, but a lot of his story goes untold, which is what I like about him.

Reiko is MK's character of mystery. It may be hard to see, but he has a lot to do with MK's storyline. I hate his f**king guts though.

I happen to like all three. Hopefully the MK team does these guys justice in MKA, but I doubt that will happen.

In my opinion, stryker is the one mortal without the magic abilities. Kinda like Punisher in Marvel. However, not as cool as punisher. I still think he is alright, though.

Shinnok would be a GREAT character if they would only improve him by a ton for example the one thing everyones posted arleady, the moves. Plus the one hit wonder and being a really weak god in the game

Reiko I like for the mystery. I didn't care too much about the Shao Khan ending but so much is left out that makes him really suspicious.

Boo-yah. Couldn't have said it better myself. They're all characters with oddles of potential who just got treated the wrong way.

As others have said, Stryker is too normal/"human," and not even badass human. I mean, it's one thing to be just human in MK, but at least bring some badass-ness to the table. His MKA design brings a futuristic feel, but still, no trace of badass-ness in sight.

With Shinnok I really got the impressing that they weren't even trying. By not having any moves of his own, and (IMO) a stupid appearance, an aura of crappiness emanates from him in palpable waves.

I was indifferent to Reiko in MK4; he was very much an underdeveloped filler character (which isn't really a crime in itself, unless the character is integral to the game's plot, like Shinnok was). The whole "Reiko-Kahn" controversy did nothing but show that the MK team sucks at writing a coherent story; however, they took the proverbial lemons of a stupid ending and made lemonade in one of the most amusing side missions in MKD's Konquest. Also, his design for MKA just exudes badass-ness. Stryker should pay attention to him; he could learn much.

Stryker was the first person to plant a bomb in someone's ribcage. That's more than enough badass-ness.

He might not have seemed good back in the 90s, but now, I think all of you Anti-Strykers will change your thoughts.
