i think it would be cool if they replace the big sub-boss like motaro and goro etc and put a person of shoa khans size in there around 7 feet tall that has 4 fighting styles and some really good ones and is a bit stronger than your fighter not as strong as normal sub-bosses would be but a very skilled fighter someone who you think you could beat but when you start fighting he puts the super smack down on you instead of the lame five hits that these old sub-bosses do that kills you in 5 seconds. i would like to see instead of a 5 second fight a good fight to the death between two skilled fighters that that will prove to the end boss that you want to fight him if you know what i mean. i think they should stop using all these GIANT CREATURES that are big as hell that hit you only five times and your dead it's kind of getting played out now it's time for a real skilled fighter to step in as a sub-boss i think this will be a good change. tell me what you think.

IMO i think there should be big creatures. If they had normal people it would be BORING. We already fight normal people through the game already. The big sub boss to me is like something different and a challenge. I wouldnt like regular people.

The sub-bosses are not wild animals. Goro is a prince, Kintaro just had a monstrous personality. Motaro was the leader of his Centaur race and Moloch clearly was intelligent.

I prefer giant creatures mainly because they are an MK trademark.

Big sub bosses look intimidating and it gets you into the feel that your fighting someone strong, which makes you get into the action.

And like they say, its a trademark to MK. I love it.

I just hope that that sub boss isnt as hard as they use to be. Also that the subboss is not HARDER than the boss.

The monstrous sub-boss is like a staple of MK. Hell, it started with MK...face a big monster-like character, then face the boss. Well, not START with MK, but its basically an unspoken rule of Mortal Kombat.

How about some small, deceptively frail-looking little woman? Something like the boss from Tekken Tag. Minus the whole possessing demon thing, anyway.

well am not talking about a normal sized person if you all realy read what i said am talking about a person that is bigger than the normal characters like about shoa khans size to the other charaters in mk3 like that type of size NOT A NORMAL SIZED CHARACTER. but he has 4 fighting styles and is a very skilled fighter and is alittle stronger than the average mk fighter. but it's just my opinion i for one will like to see somthing new in the sub-boss area but don't flame me for it that's just the way i see it.

If you fought a human for a sub-boss, then it wouldn't be a sub-boss. It would be just a normal fighter.
The human like sub boss could be from a race of giants. It could work.

Just make his costume look very intimidating.

Because giant creature sub bosses are totally sweet. Goro rocked the nuts off of everything ever. He needs to come strolling back into the picture, I don't care if he got killed by Noob or not. I mean, Scorpion has died like eleven times now and he keeps coming back for more.

Seriously, the big monsters were in every game but Mortal Kombat 4, and they even threw Goro into the mix for the home versions. It just doesn't feel like Mortal Kombat without the big monsters. However, Deadly Alliance was a complete departure from everything we were used to, so if they continue along that same track, maybe we won't see any huge monsters in Deception. Besides, the Dragon King will probably be fearsome enough that he doesn't need a giant beastly hatchetman to weaken you before you fight him. Maybe the Dragon King will have his own styles too.. that would be pretty sweet.

Did Quan Chi really count as a sub boss though, since he was part of the immediately selectable roster of characters? I always associated bosses with being exclusively available to the AI and not to players. Playing as a boss or sub boss was always sort of a special thing, like a cheat code or something.

well i don't mean a HUMAN sub-boss am talking about in size he could be a ONI for all i care but just without the 4 arms or the half man half horse or the green gorilla type bosses but a fighter that can actually fight like round houses and stuff and he will be as big as shoakhan or even a little bit bigger but smaller than the average sub-boss.that's all am saying.

It's tradition! Bosses need to be huge! It does not mean they have to be creatures. I think having some sort of creature as the boss makes the boss/sub boss seem more challenging. With a human we know what to expect. It's basically strength given to them to make them seem tough whereas a creature is something we automatically associate with immense strength.

I think most 'giant creatures' in Mortal Kombat suck...

If the sub-boss needs to be a 'creature' again, make him more human like.

Sorry, I rather have a big mean monster as a sub-boss. Especially since the "Dragon" King will be the boss. I'm kinda hoping for a dragon. Image fighting a dragon hand-to-hand and having to dodge fire-breath, tail, wings, claws and teeth. It might be a challenge, but just think how great it would feel when you beat it.

nah im in favour of the giant sub boss, its part of mk tradition. The final boss is the skilled fighter who can be seven feet tall that you fight to the death. But the sub boss should always be some kind of monster/big thingy grin
