This is my question.
The game already has 24 characters and alternate suits for everyone. Favorite characters return and with interesting new ones.
A lot of interactive backgrounds, weapons and deathtraps.
2 Fatalitys and Hara Kiri for all characters.
A new boss.
New game modes, Puzzle, Konquest, Chess, On line.
Why do you want more?
I like the game as it is.

my whole standpoint on this is because MK games dont seem so mysterious anymore.. where are the secrets.. thats why i appreciate the series so much more than anything else.. dont get me wrong.. im happy with the game.. if you have so much nostalgia in a new game (old characters/arenas).. why not complete the nostalgia?

I'm only disappointed because the characters that were most rumored to be Unlockable (Sareena, Sektor, Kitana, Quan Chi, Kung Lao) are characters I like and wanted to be in the game.
Little disappointed, but I still like the game.

Besides what the other guys have said, it's also that every other MK has had something else, secret, so despite the already large amount of content in the normal game, getting nothing else in this one feels like we got cheated.

Smoke. I don't remember if Motaro and Shao Kahn are unlockables in MK3 though.
But on the SUs. I already like the game. I just can't believe that if Raiden and Liu Kang are the SUs that they were so easy to get. I think that there still is a chance that there are other SUs, and if there are not, than that's fine. If there is though, it would be a great secret, ' cause nobody has found it yet...

ahem! To get Liu Kang you had to defeat Konquest, go BACK into Konquest, go to Edenia, find the tent, meditate until a certain time etc etc etc.... [I dont have the details 2 hand]
...all that and YOU are saying he was easy 2 get? OMG
Us internet folk make up a PORTION of the entire world of MK fans Midway target.
Seems some of you think that the net IS the ONLY fanbase of MK, dont 4get about the hardcore gamers without the net, who complete the game only with a PRIMA guide or wotever.
THEY are enjoying the game, THEY are finding real secrets, THEY are maximising the gameplay. THEY are the true winners of MK.
SOME of you internet people need to remember that the gaming universe doesnt revolve around YOUR needs.
Now imagine yourself as someone without the net, would YOU have found Kang "easily" ??
I think not.
Liu Kang is a SU, whether you dare to admit it or not.

I knew somebody would say smoke was the secret on MK3 and it would prove my point. If smoke was the unlockable on mk3 than liu kang and raiden are just as good as well as every other character not available from the start. Sorry folks but not only did smoke appear on the screen in mk3 to start but he wasn't even shadowed out people knew who he was and how to get him within a week of the initial launch.

Why? Because secrets are fun! That's what MK has always been about. Yes Smoke was considered a secret in MK 3 even though was in plain sight but I think it's safe to say that the standard for secrets in gaming have risen. Even the development team at Fight Night said that.
I remember how freaked I was when I first saw Shang Tsung do his Kintaro Fatality in MK 2 (holding LK for the entire second round). Now those were secrets!

It was hold lp not lk and it was for 30 seconds or from round start not for the full round. I too remember the first time I saw it and I said wow that was really lame for the effort. He didn't even morph just a fire explosion and kintaro was there so I went back to not bothering to do a fatality unless somebody asked to see them. If the level of secrets has risen then why were mokap/blaze so easy to get there was nothing super unlockable about them it was common sense. Smoke was harder to get once they put out a version that didn't have a bypass to the UKC.
Secrets are no substitute for gameplay. learn that and maybe mk won't suck next time.

Who says I'm not enjoying the game? I think it's a great game and I play it a lot. But don't you think Mr. Boon and his friends know that there is an internet? That they know that all the secrets are on the net the day after the game is released? Don't you know that the internet is meant to make it easy for you to get the information you search for?
The answer to all of this is yes.
So maybe there still is stuff in MK:D to be found that Boon is keeping to himself for just a while.
If there is no such thing I don't care 'cause the game rocks! I used to play games without the internet in the old days. But now that there is internet I will use it. Not to screw up the game (I don't use immortality cheats or whatever), but to get to enjoy it to the max.
You can keep staring at the empty character boxes as long as you want but that doens't help anyone. The characters are put in the game to unlock. So I unlock them. That's what they there for.
And now I can play with a lot more characters then when I first started playing the game.
Anyway I had a lot more trouble unlocking Blaze and Mokap in MK:DA than unlocking Liu Kang in MK:D (and I knew how to unlock them too)
So I think getting Liu Kang was rather easy, compared to hidden characters in older MK games.
And I know the "gaming" universe doesn't revolve around my needs. Well it does a little actually. You see, developers want to sell their games. Therefore they need to satisfy the needs of the gamers they want to sell it to. So it does a little now doesn't it?

To be honest with you, I would love the game as it is. From what I have heard it sounds incredible, especially since EVERYTHING has been upgraded from MKDA. By the way, the new unlocks in the Krypt look appealing, and I think that is what is mysterious and keeps you guessing. Not only this, but the storyline is something that has always appealed to me in MK games...and they have been getting better and better!
