I REALLY WANT but i cant for some reasons:
I dont have NGC.
Even if i have 1 it will be PAL cuz im in europe so they are uncompatible.
I felt like shit when i saw Shao Kahn and heared that Goro is also in.

of course but it sucks that i have to buy the GC version for Shao Kahn and Goro and the Xbox version for online play. Oh well its MK and i have to do what i have to do.

Yea, I'm buying it too. It won't be the first time I've gotten the same game for 2 consoles(Soul Calibur 2)

I thave Deception on PS2. I don't like Decption that much compared to past MK games.I'll give it a rent to see how the added characters to the cube version are.No I won't buy it , but I will check it out. If I would have liked Deception I would have glady bought it twice, but I don't.

i thave a ps2 and i dont have a gamcube. So no im not going to buy a whole gamecube just for 2 characters. I think it would be a waste of money,

Perhaps maybe they'll let people trade in their PS2 MK:D game for the GC version? Sounds like a good idea.
Sounds like a stupid idea. What sort of company that wants to make money would do something as stupid as that?
hell no i wont buy a damn gamecube + MKD again, only to support them just for two characters.. reasons?
1. gamecube is $100
2. gamecube's controls suck ass
3. MKD will be $50
4. Shao Kahn and Goro are typical.. why not bring back someone we wouldnt think of
5. the MK team should not makeup for Nintendo's faults (onlineplay) its Nintendo's loss..
6. Who plays MKD still.. the fighting system consists of combo chains and single throws..
7. I could go on all night.

I will not purchase it, the only additions are the two boss characters which I am pissed that we Xbox and PS2 owners will not get. But without online play there will be no reason for me to practice with those two extra characters because no one will challenge me and I will not know how good they really are. What fun is that? Everyone I know either plays an SNK or a Capcom fighter so online was MK:D's saving grace for me. A Game Cube version would die a slow death on my shelf due to lack of competition without online or even offline. Besides, I really don't feel like going through Konquest again just for those two. If Midway hopes not to abandon the majority of MK fans who have purchased the two earlier versions they should make an expansion disk with the extra characters on it. Sort of how Tecmo did with DOA3.
If this trend continues, I will be more hesitant in buying an MK game for fear that a new and improved version of the same game is on the horizon. I now feel like I have an inferior product thanks to the news from Nintendo Power. MK team, if you are reading this you should try to be fair to all of your fans not just a select few. The majority of us are spread accross the PS2 and Xbox consoles and we the fans have helped you get this far with your success by purchasing your product. Things like this lead to loss of consumer confidence in a product. A good thing to do would be to anounce an expansion disk for those wishing to play as the additional characters planned for the Game Cube that either cannot afford it, or do not wish to purchase the same game twice. All want is a fair deal. Thank you all for reading my post.
Peace.

It depends on whether there are more hidden characters. Without the online play, it hardly seems worth it. I may get it for collection purposes and just so that I have these new characters and can use them in game and check out their stories and how they play.

I'm in. Namely becuase I don't have the PS2 or XBOX.
I've been an MK fan since day 1. I was confused about them not releasing MKD for the GCN right away, but a little delay is not that big a deal.
And hey, if they put some xtras in, the more the better. But I'd be satisfied with a spot on copy of what you guys have already played just to be able to play it....
My 2 cents...

if on my birthday i can find a cheap gamecube then yeah, not for shit kahn or assro, *giggle*, but if those two are in, who knows who else may later be revealed as playable... maybe even... sareena? *thinks about a 3-d sareena, drops dead on the floor*.
proberly buy a used gamecube two weeks after christmas (my birthday), so i should be set... i guess i am devoted to mk, but more to ps as this is the only game i am getting for the gamecube (until more info on the gamecube exclusive castlevania is released).

Well im not huge Shao kahn or Goro fans, plus Im in UK so we prob wont get it. I wouldnt buy it solely for Shao Kahn and Goro. I have it on PS2, 2 characters aint enought o make me spend another £40 on it. Unless one was Kitana lol. If there are more character I might consider it.

kaishaku: You do realize that there could be more in the Cube version then just 2 characters, right? Cube's controler does suck... for fighting games. But playing MKDA on the cube wasn't a nightmare for me. Bringing back Kahn and Goro is a great idea. Why wouldn't it be? They're two big bosses. I would have prefered Kintaro over Goro, but... eh. And your (#5) struck me most. Are... are you serious??? Even if the XBox and PS2 versions DIDN'T have online play... the cube would still have extras. And why is that? Simple... because every company adds extras to games that are later released on different systems. It happens all the time. I have some examples if you want to hear them. And who would want to buy the same version thats already been released for 5 months? Of course Midway will add extras for this coming version. And now I can mention that the Cube is losing online play. Usually companies just add things to the newer versions... not add and remove.
mastermalone: You want midway to be fair to all their fans? They are... by making up for the later release date for the Cube people and because the Cube version won't have online play (and please... don't give me that "hardy har har... but midway shouldn't make up for Nintendo's mistakes... hardy har").
Sorry to go off on you two... but I will defend my Gamecube. And this is coming from someone who owns a cube, but also bought a PS2 back in late september so I could play MKD.

It depends what other extras will be in the GCN version of MK:D.
I won't buy it solely for the purpose of having Shao Kahn and Goro in it.

You know, the reason that the Game Cube version is being released is because we the fans sceamed loud enough for it. I also have a Game Cube so never assume that I am some type of fan boy. I was glad to hear that the Cube would get theirs soon but be honest with yourself you know what I mean by "fair" Sony gets games on its PS2 that wind up being multiplatfom later for the Box and the Cube with no extras and if there are extras they are insignificant. To me this situation is almost like the Soul Calibur 2 release where each system had an exclusive character, you wanted all of the characters but you could only choose one game for one system. Now here we have MK:D where theoretically each system could have all the same characters. You either choose online play or extra characters. I understand that they want to make a flashier package for GameCube owners due to lack of online play but I just wanted to voice my opinion. mastermalone: You want midway to be fair to all their fans? No need to slap me in the face.

there was no slapping in the face. Companies do this sort of thing. Granted I too was a little upset when I over heard that Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee was coming out on xbox with an extra character, fixed glitches, and 2 new arenas. I own the cube version and felt I had a version that was incomplete. But I got over it within a day or two. It didn't seem worth it. The xbox version has everything the cube version has. I bring this situation up because it's almost like the MKD situation. Only this time they are removing a feature from the cube version.
So would you think it would be fair for the MK fans if the cube version didn't have the extras at all?
