In MK:Mythologies they say it's a skill past down. Sub-Zero learned of his abilites from his father. They don't go into more detail than that.

I like that idea! Though I think she may be his daughter, considering the difference in age, and since he wasn't around to teach her how to freeze it may explain her lack of ability to properly freeze things, so instead of learning she taught herself. It would really add some zip to the game.

Frost isnt related to sub-zero in any way. That is why she is such a mystery . I dont think that Frost is dead, even if her ending comes true. Sub-zero's and Frost's may be linked much like Nitara's,reptiles and Cyrax were. Dont forget that Frost couldn't control the Dragon medalion, so she frooze herself. Just because she frooze herself doesn't mean she has died. I am sure that part of mastering making ice was to being able to surrive in sub-zero temp and keep in mind since we have seen that Sub-zero has the Dragon Medalion on his waist area in MK6 screen , one can think that Sub-zero had to get it from Frost hands to get it back.

How do u know Frost isnt realted to Sub? Nothing is known about her, and i would not be surprised at all if the MK team tried to pull something with Frost and Subby being related. I dunno, I hope they dont. But ppl shouldnt give out deffinate answers if they have no proof.

At E3 2002, Ed Boon said that Frost isn't sub-zero's sister. Also just because they both have Kori powers doesn't mean there related. Frost could have discovered Kori powers just as Sub-zero's decentants could have.

frost has a lot of great combos in mkda. she is very fun to play for those of us who enjoy lengthy combos. however her story, like most in mkda, is lame as all hell. very stories in mkda were worthy of mk2 status. they need to make her officially sub's sister and give her a purpose other than to yearn for the amulet. we already have alot of ninjas confirmed for mk6 so i have little faith frost will return.

Frost felt like a watered down Sub Zero. They gave her what moves he didn't use anymore and increased her speed to compensate for the loss.

She's a good character but she could use some original special moves and a more refined style/story.

For Frost fans, I'm afraid she may not come back. Although it would be nice to have her return with better mechanics... Boon and team have made mention of the original characters retaining their classic moves for the new game. It wouldn't be accepted well among fans to have two characters with the exact same moveset, would it?

She was the best female in MK:DA. Her combos were fun and fast. They gave her the right feel and look and I hadn't like a female characther that much since Kitana and Mileena were introduced in MK2.

Anyways, there’s plenty of room to develop her story one way or the other, she has plenty of potential and it would be a shame to not have her back just so a dodgy new character can take her spot only to be dropped for MK7. In my opinion now that the MK series is getting on a bit and there are a lot of characters we don’t need as many new characters per game. It doesn’t seem right to leave characters with potential out just to fill a quota of new characters.

So bring her back I say.

She badly needs some original special moves, but yeah, I'd like to see Frost back. She has a cool look, different to other ninja girls, and they should make more of her feud with Sonya.
