Would Create-A-Character special abilities have an affect on your character's appearance?
This hit me a few days ago, and I've only now had the opprotunity to post it. Let's here everyone's view on this subject!
Lets think. What's a create-a-character option, if you don't have the ability to teach your character special moves ala Scorpion's spear, or Sub-Zero's freeze? Sure, you could always program some of Sonya's flying jump kick, but whats the fun in that? Some people might want to freeze, or elricute their opponent -- and to do so would mean your character, mysteriously, having those powers.
Whether such options will be available, however, is not the issue. The question of the day is -- would such abilities have an affect on your appearance? Raiden is a god of thunder. Ergo, an affect on his appearance is those streams of lightening circulating around him. Sub-Zero and Frost can freeze things. The affect on their appearance is frozen hair, breathing of cold air, and what not. If your character had special abilities such as these, would your appearance suffer (or some may think benefit) from these possibly mandatory alterations?
Lets expand on this, in our thought. WEAPON STANCES, too, could alter your appearance. I think we've seen in pictures already that returning characters are returning from MKDA with their expected stances (ex: Sub-Shredder with his Dragon stance). Ergo, it would be logical to conclude that weapon stances will return as well ... and it would also be logical to expect many players designing their characters would want to USE their favorite weapons from MKDA.
So what happens if you're favorite weapon happened to be Sub-Zero's Kori Blade? It's only logical, that for your character to HAVE a Kori Blade, he would need the freezing ability -- which could then alter your character's appearance?
What if you wanted the cool moves Baraka could pull off with his arm blades? Would you be able to have arm blades? Would that mean that your character would literally have to be a member of Baraka's species, and egro have an altered appearance?
Or, in the instance of the Kori and Arm Blades, would they simply make a whole new weapon that simply operates like the Kori Blade or arm blades (The Ninja Sword and Katana in MKDA looked different, but operated the same). Its possible to just have maybe a Scottish Broad Sword that moved like Sub's Kori Blade, or double straight swords that could be handle's like Baraka's arm blades. But of course, such happenings wouldn't be as FUN has having the real thing!
So what say you guys on the subject?

i think you'll be able to have like 4 or 5 different moves and you'll be able to choose which ones you have, like you could have subs. freeze and ermacs telekenisis slam and so on. thats just my opinion, but i think you should be able to make you own costume

I can see where special abilities (ice, thunder, fire, etc.) would have an effect on one's appearence. But what if some nut decides to mix and match elements. For example: Jack Brainless gives his fighter the ablity to freeze things and then electricution with a grab and shock. Would Jack Brainless's character have both the frozen hair and bug zapper skin?
This brings up a question, in create a character, would we be limited to just one element per character? If you meet Scorpion first and learn one of his fire attacks, would that mean you couldn't learn any of Sub-Zero's freezing moves? I for one hope that we are limited to one element per character. And the element does effect the character's appearence. If nothing else it gives some warning as to what sort of special attacks your opponent might use.

i don't think it should affect your appereance cause, if you wanted your character to be mystyrious you couldn't show that you knew some fire powers or ice powers, i think if you want them to show then you could choose to but not automatacaly show them

This is where a system of balance must be achieved. Depending on what is learned first, and following techniques that are of an opposite element than that of the originally learned one should take half damage, or something to that extent...

Maybe ur character will only be able to have one element at a time, but would be able to change the element in order to replace the learned elemental moves with different elemental moves. Or somthin like that.....

I'm only hoping that characters have only one element for their attacks. However, perhaps we should be given the option as to which element our character is more attuned to in the basic character creation along with gender, race, etc. This would be similiar to what the actual MK characters are like. They are basically born to their element. On the other hand maybe we could be allowed to lose old techniques to learn new ones. For example, say that Raiden's lighting bolts are doing you any good. Go out and look for Sub-Zero to learn some ice moves, but when you do that you loose your electric attacts. I just hope that mix and match elements will not be a part of the creation process and characters only get one element.
Sidenote: Perhaps characters will be able to get stronger in arenas that match their element in someway and weaken in arenas with the oposite element. For example: Sub-Zero would be strongest in the Lin Kuei ice compound, but weakest in a fire and brimstone arena.
