Just called mine about an hour ago, they said they will ship it on the 4th, it will be on the shelves on the 5th.

Heres what i did. I put 5 $ down at gamespot, and if it comes out earlier i will not hesitate to go elsewhere and buy it... 5 dollars is not a whole lot of money, so screw it :\

Lotta stores get game diff, like i called a Wal-Mart and they said the 15th. But after that i called Toys R Us and they said they will be getting it the 1st and they put things out right when they get em. Omg i love Toys R Us!! Thats where im going.

I called EB games and they sai the 6th as well. Oh well, I can wait another day...

According to samgoody.com, the release date kinda varies. The regular version for Xbox and PS2 says Oct. 4; the Xbox Kollector's Edition is Oct. 1; and the PS2 Premium Pack is Oct. 15.
That might explain why some places are saying Oct. 1 and some say Oct. 15, but it doesn't explain the Oct. 6.
Edit: I should also mention that the official MKD site says Oct. 5 is the release date. However, links to EB Games and Gamestop say Oct. 4 for both KE and PP.

Do you think the getintothegame coupon will be valid at target on October first? It says its redeemable when the game comes out October 6th, but if it does come out the first I dont want to have to wait 5 days to get a 10 dollar discount.

premium pack on oct 15? haha. that;s funny cause the ps2 version was done a while ago and they were having problems with xbox. i don't even know when to go to the store to get my premium pack. i have to try comp usa fist cause i have a gift card for that, then walmart. this sucks

I just pre-ordered mine today and the guy at EB Games said October 5th.. =( oh well, just a day. Im happy i got my Collectors ED copy..

Neither do I, so if it is coming out October 1st (HOLY SHIT THAT'S FRIDAY!!!!) then I'm gonna go get it right then and there. I don't care if it's $50, I'll pay as much as I have to for that game.
