Overall the things that appeal the most to MK fans don't appeal to Non-MK fans, so when he was looking for a decent fighting game, it's no surprized he was disappointed when he saw he a 3D version of Midway Arcade Treasures

He gave deadly alliance a 7, but he gave deception a 4. It doesnt make any sense. He's reviews are usually fair, I'm kinda suprised. P.S. I was completely unaware that this thread already existed on the MKD discussion forum.

Whoa, Ed Boon must have run over Frank's dog or something....he seems to really hate Midway. Man, how many times did he call them idiots? I must say, I'm disappointet, I always thought he was a reasonable guy who rated games impartially, but he seems to be just another Capcom/SNK fanboy. That's sad.

I remember damn well how his review of MK:DA (he actually liked it) used to end with the phrase "An excellent, excellent game here". Well, that phrase ain't there no more, and that's a bit hypocritical since he always gives damn good ratings to the Capcom games, which are games that are always kinda the same.

If I was in a pissy mood, I'd find a way to contact him, and I'd bash him for being such a cock sucking asswhipe about a game where he says the storyline licks ass when I doubt he doesn't even know 1.5% of what the story is even about.

Anyways franks retarded theres no way mkd could possibly get a worse score then da. An exact replica of da with online play alone would get a higher score IMO. But owell thats his opinion, who cares.

Exacty what kind of story is he expecting from a fighting game? Mk is the only fighting game that actualy has any real story to begin with. Soul Calibur has and almost story but thats the next closest thing. Capcom hasn't made a fighter with any story to it at all to date.

I've already given my thoughts on his opinion of the game in the MKD board, but I'll just sum up again:
Frank was never really a fan of MK from the beginning. MKDA took him by surprise which is why I think he somewhat praised it.
Frank is a horrible nit-picker. He'll simply hate a charecter because they fit a stereotype or resemble a charecter from a different fighting game.
I do think he's very informed about MKD. My guess he didn't pay much attention to the story which is why he bashes the returning charecters and such. I'm not going to question his thoughts on the gameplay though. It's pretty much the same as MKDA and it's outclassed by games that are several years old already.
Now I wouldn't go as far as say it's worthy of a 4, I'd have given it a 6(and that's takinging in every aspect and based on the deluxe box). Hell, he gave MK3 and MK4 a 6 and I enjoyed MKD more than both of those.

wow... he's a dick! I always thought he did give good reviews. He states that it's messed up that midway brought back Baraka. They brought him back because of the fans liked him... his review... isn't funny either. I guess it's cuz I'm an MK fan tho.

"Unfortunately, Midway and their "team" of designers don't know how to tell a story worth anything. Within the intro itself, two characters end up getting killed (Raiden and Shang Tsung), and then magically come back to life without any explanation. That's just retarded. If you remember correctly, they made a big deal about Liu Kang dying in the Deadly Alliance story line. Well... Guess what... He's back as a selectable character. Yeah, that makes sense alright... Baraka also supposedly died in the MK4 series, but he's back too. Nice planning guys... What a bunch of idiots."
1. Raiden and Shang Tsung are never killed, just DEFEATED. Raiden is a GOD, how could a mortal kill a GOD? Liu Kang is back as a zombie, you twit. Get it right. So basically, he's still dead, you moron. And Baraka never died either. If you knew half of what your talking about, which your suppose to, because you reviewed this damn game, you'd know that not all endings come true in the MK franchise. Only half or maybe even less come true within' the story of the next game. If your gonna write a review, don't be an ass, AND DO SOME FUCKING RESEARCH.
"MK: Deception includes two mini games, Chess Kombat (which isn't bad), and a ripped off version of Super Puzzle Fighter. Capcom should sue their balls off. The Krypt is back, with loads of useless crap to unlock. Some of those commentary movies are simply hilarious to watch though. You've got to hear Boon tell the audience how his favorite character is Scorpion. What a moron. The Konquest mode is somewhat fun, somewhat monotonous. It's like a dollar store version of Shenmue. 2. The Krypt is not useless, you unlock characters, costumes, bio's and everything else in there that you need to aquire everything.
