Imagine if Midway hosts a national online tournament for MK that stacks up twenty players from all over the US and even the world and they all compete for a grand prize that Midway gives out.
Let's say the grand prize would be a new character that only the winner of the tournament would have. Let's say your favorite character is Johnny Cage and he is not in Deception. Midway would create about 20 Johnny Cage's with brand new moves and such and the winners of the 20 tournaments that give him out will get him as a playable character that is downlaoded onto your game. The other prizes will be new fighting styles for Shujinko that only the winner would have.
There would be runner up prizes as well, the person that looses would get an extra alternate outfit for there character.
So what do you think of this idea? Yay or Nay?

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but I believe in an interview at E3, Ed Boon said that there would be no ladder/tournament for this game. He said maybe for the next game though.
Edit: And also, if they were to do this, it would more than likely be only HDD compatable since you would need to download it and all. I like the idea though.

sounds like a good idea, but the problem is that as soon as one person gets a new non-deception character, then their settings file would be copied to everyone and their brother. so it wouldn't REALLY be all that exclusive.
