X-men: Destiny, its like they blew all the money on the X-men license and then realised they had none left to make the game.

Piece. Of. Shit.

Aaaaand Gears of War 3 and MW3. And shall I dare say it. Skyrim. I sold this game a couple weeks after I got it. I was so hyped up for it. I just couldn't handle how it worked on the PS3. It was too glitchy. I'd have to restart multiple time to get by.

You really need to play more than just the beta. Operation Metro hardly showcase what the game is capable of, or even about IMO.

As for my list of disappointing games for 2011 are:

COD:MW3: The only redeeming quality of the game was the single player. MP felt like nothing different than MW2, and the maps where nauseatingly small. I probably put less than 5 hours into MP before going back to Battlefield 3 (which as of right now I've probably put more hours into than Skyrim). MW3 was such a waste of $60 IMO.

Forza 4: Its a fun game, and graphically better than 3, but there really wasn't a whole that was new to the game. Maybe it wasn't disappointing, but it defiantly got lost in the shuffle with the other games that came out IMO.

U/MVC3 was not worth the wait. Neither was Duke Nukem.

Mortal Kombat: Terrible online community, boring single player content, at home multiplayer just got boring... I think it's a great game, it just burned out extremely fast for me. Haven't played it in months.

Skyrim: So much to do, so little I actually wanted to do or even enjoyed.

Skyward Sword: From what I've heard, it gets better as it goes but... This game is just getting on my nerves so far. I have never been so irritated by a Zelda game.

Dragon Age 2: I actually really enjoyed tiny main plot of the game.... But the side quests were boring, meaningless filler, combat became a chore, and there was not a single interesting bit of scenery in the whole game. Looked like a PS2 game.

Oh yeah, and Modern Warfare 3: I only play these games with my sister and her husband because well.. It's fun to shoot them and we're hilarious but.... This game showed up, we played it once... Never again. Garbage.

Wow. Mortal Kombat lived up and surpassed expectations. Dont just judge it by its online. Compared to other fighters it has so much more. At least it has a single player with a story and cut scenes. Maybe you just not into fighters maybe you don't wanna put the time and dedication into mastering several characters.
It was not a disappointment. MkvsDc was a disappointment. So was Armageddon. Not saying they are bad but they were disappointing in many ways.
MK 2011 was not disappointing at all it blew the recent MK games out of the water and totally rebuilt the fighting. Back to glory.

For you it wasn't a disappointment, for Harle (and myself) it was. Just opinion man.

COD Black Ops.I never was a big fan of COD even though I love first person shooters.The zombies arent bad though.

I bought over 15 games this year and if i should choose one i would pick

dead island: horrible voice acting, stupid story, unappealing stereotypic characters, frustrating health system, retarded repetitive missions

but since I'm a huge zombie fan i still have the game haha

i recommend dead space 2 as my favorite zombie ish game. BEST GAME EVER. except the end "boss" (lost all my health packs and was low on ammo getting to it on my first play through ) was made me pull out my hair!

Holy fuck, getting to the last part made me so damn furious. The stalkers, the super regenerator thing whatever, and the little shits that shoot the liquid that slows you down. I hated that part so much. Then get screwed on the boss.


But alas, that game is SO DAMN GOOD.

3. Battlefield 3 - This game wasn't bad. I played the beta, and enjoyed it a lot. I only had the beta for a couple of days though. I bought it when it came out and it was disappointing.
I realize the story is not the main focus in this game but they could have done a tad better with it. The voice acting was kinda meh-y because almost every other word said was "fuck". That gets quite annoying after a while. The whole story just seemed like a bad showcase of SOME of the things in the game.
The multiplayer also turned out to be disappointing because everyone said that this game was about teamwork but every time i played a game, my team was not working as a team. Therefor, I was constantly by myself getting my ass shot off. I realize that's the game's fault but it still sucks. Also, I wish they had some sort of small tutorial on how to fly helicopters/jets. I'm always crashing them. Overall, I was just disappointed. It wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. Not a Bad game though. I still play it occasionally.

2. Rage - At first this game looked like it was gonna be great but, It just.......it just wasn't. It was fun for the first few missions but then it just got repetitive and dull. It (the story) just wasn't fun. Nor was the gameplay.
The multiplayer seriously lacked because all you could do was drive cars and shoot other cars with your car. That's literally all I got from it. I haven't played this game since the day after I bought it. I played it a lot in that one day though.

1. Duke Nukem Forever - What the fuck. I mean I wasn't expecting too much but REALLY? I mean, 15 years or some shit of development and this is what they came up with? Jesus fucking Christ this game was shit.

I cancelled my pre-order after playing the Beta. Then I ended up buying it first day anyways (derp) for some reason. I have since logged 183 hours on this game to date (yes, yes I know that's terrible and makes me seem like I have no life but it is the only thing I have been playing). My all-time favourite online game ever!

To MKShizz: You are right, this game can suck if you end up in a team with a bunch of idiots running around on their own looking at the plants or butterfies or shit, but if you play with friends it is amazing (also gotta use voice chat to get the best out of it). Remember you can always try switch teams or at least change squads if you stuck with 3 snipers lying 500m from the action.

Having said all that, my biggest gaming dissapointment was the Battlefield 3 Beta. In the actual release things just clicked into place for me though. Closely followed by Gears of Waiting for a Matchup 3. Nothing really bad about it, if you have ten or so minutes to spare waiting for it to find a match. Shit got old really fast though. Plus I hate doing the shotgun foxtrot all match.

I thought it was 2011.Either way I'm not impressed.

That makes a lot of sense Though I don't have any friends that are playing BF3 because they're all playing Call of Duty. So I guess I'll have find some. Thanks for the idea.

Really? I thought Black Ops was better than all the Modern Warfares. Treyarch makes the better COD games.

I'm just getting used to using them myself. The trick seems to be that the left joystick is used for turning right or left only. The right stick control's the nose of the helicopter/jet up or down, while left and right on the right joystick causes the plane to rotate left or right.

Then you were expecting to damn much. Its not opinion. If your a genuine fan of Mortal Kombat then you would appreciate the latest game in the series. Whether you still play it to this day doesn't really matter but to call it a disappointment is just fucking incredible. I know your not serious. I want to know exactly what you were expecting. Your prior arguments are not valid at to determining whether a game is considered a disappointment. I want a few reasons why you would consider Mortal Kombat a disappointment.

Modern Warfare was good. But MW2 and MW3 was trash. World at war was good. But Black Ops was great. Awesome customization, wager matches, and no stopping power.

CoD 4 was OK, but I enjoy the Treyarch games alot more.

The graphics were dated but it was more balanced and better in many areas
