My grandfather fought and lived through D-Day, accounting for my existance and whatnot. I thought that was pretty nifty.

My grandfather was stationed in Italy on this date, so he didn't take part in D-Day invasion. I happen to have one of the Liras he got while there.

My grandfather was stationed in far east (Phillipines to be exact) and never saw action, but, one has no idea the respect I have for the participants in D-Day and in any war.
