This. I also can't believe she was only 27, didn't seem like it to me.

It's a wonder she has lived for this long considering her lifestyle.

Depends when she started her lifestyle that ended up killing her.

I have to say, I'm fairly devastated after hearing this news. I don't think I'll ever, ever forget this day as long as I'll live. I'll forever remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard Amy Winehouse passed away. And listening to her album now, it's really hitting me how much I'll actually miss her. I've done sketches of her for years, one of which is currently my profile photo on Facebook as a mark of respect.
I was 16 when Back To Black was released. I'd initially fallen in love with the star's personal style and sass, her down to earth north london attitude which was endearing and full of character and radiated throughout her lyrics. My own niece, Aimee, was named after her (although not the exact spelling) because both myself and my sister adore Winehouse. Her songs "Wake Up Alone", "You Know I'm No Good", "Back To Black" and "Love is a Losing Game" got me through some of the hardest moments I've faced in the last 6 years. Even recently, before her death, I'd light some candles and put that album on repeat on my ipod if I wanted to just lose myself in her lyrics
Regardless of her flaws or addictions she was a star in my eyes. Inspirational, unique, talented and promising. With her style, her voice and her lyrics, she had the world at her feet, and none could argue that with talents such as hers that she didn't deserve it. She single-handedly re-introduced Blues and Jazz music to the charts around the world at a time when auto-tune and synthesizers were dominating the airwaves. She sang about issues that everybody could relate to, about broken hearts, addiction, love, lonliness and insecurity, but most importantly she sang from the heart. You could completely relate to her.
But what appealed to me most about her was the fact she was such a flawed person too, and she knew it. She never tried to hide the fact she wasn't perfect, and she never pretended to be either. She was what she was: a talented, promising and genuinely talented singer who let her talent shine bright around the world despite being trapped with her own inner demons and darkness. She inspired so many people, and touched so many with her music, and as a heartbroken fan I can only hope people will remember her for her soulfull, powerful voice and touching lyrics and not for her own personal struggles with drug abuse.
Rest in Peace Amy. You will be dearly missed.

Not surprising in the least. Surprised she lasted as long as she did.

How is it that someone can be the biggest turd in the toilet bowl and still come out smelling like a rose just because they're dead? Her talent aside, she was a self destructive narcissist and she did this to herself. She was told multiple times that she had to lay off the drugs if she wanted to live she chose not to. I've seen what it's like to not have a choice, to struggle to hold on to as much as possible just for a few more months or weeks. I'll save my sympathy for those people and skip the millionare coke heads.

The sympathy is put towards her artistry, not her as a person.
I know you know this, which is why you put her talent aside.
I for one wanted to see her overcome her addictions and continue what could've been a highly successful music career. The fact that her fans are forced to live with "What if" is what supplies the sympathy.
Her terrible choice of actions will most likely not be forgiven, but due to her great contribution as an R&B artist, she will be remembered.

Well I guess I can Cross Amy off of my "To do" list

I got to be honest, I was neither a fan of Amy Winehouse's music, nor a fan of her antics that probably led to her death. Of all the celebrity deaths that have occurred over the past 2-3 summers, I have to say I'm the least affected by hers.
It's a shame that she died young though, especially before a tour, and it sucks to see her talent never got as much exposure as her addictions did.
Condolences to those who mourn her passing, and may she rest in peace.

It really bothers me that so many people ridicule her for her "issues"... Yes, she is an extreme case, but when I see her behavior AND listen to her music a picture is painted of someone who is really suffering. I don't blame her for her addictions, and I don't blame the man she shared them with. I know quite personally how two people with such severe problems can affect each other like that. She is so beautifully talented and was once a beautiful person as well, watching her decay like this and die after trying and failing to recover multiple times saddens me so deeply.
It is rare that I feel connected to an artist and she was one of them. I still can't get over this, I wanted so badly for her to succeed.

The Deadpool movie script was going to take quite a few shots at Amy Winehouse... I imagine it's going to get some rewrites now.
I think the Deadpool movie is likely to be cancelled because WB is being selfish with Ryan Reynolds and they won't let him work with 20th Century Fox either that or its pushed to 2014.But about Amy Winehouse it is a horrible thing but I wasn't too surprised when I saw it on the news alert on MTV yesterday because She had a lot of drug addictions.R.I.P Amy Winehouse :(The Deadpool movie script was going to take quite a few shots at Amy Winehouse...
