Awww Yeah! lookin good. I was actually expecting the 3rd character to be the Chinese assassin girl from the end of Ezio's story, but I'll take this over that.

I'm a huge AC fan, the rumors of the American revolution seem to be coming about. It'll be very interesting to see how this turns out. TC, you made my day.

First British poster in the thread...

I dont like how it seems to be a bit AMERICA. Etc.

I was kinda gearing myself up for a bit of World War One, Ancient Egypt or Fuedal Japan.

BUT. The Assassin's Creed guys are very good.

I've been PRAYING for a Fuedal Japan theme, but apparently Ubi wants to shy away from the Asian influence since it's used in a lot of games.

I think thats fair enough. Besides they gotta get the Desmond story out of the way really.

Native American it seems, cool.

While I too want other time settings like Victorian London, Fuedal Japan, Acient Egypt etc, AC seems to get moving forward in time rather than jumping back and forth, so we're getting closer to Desmond.

Theres alot this series could do once they finish with Demonds story.

Sorta diggin the new look. I'm excited to see what they can do with this and the proposed revolutionary war theme. It's exciting to see the series introducing some new assassins. Although Ezio is awesome, I'm excited to see someone new. I am also excited to see how desmonds story continues to play out. I hope that this new assassin has connections to Altiar like Ezio did, maybe even connections to Ezio as well.

Not another ancestooorrrrgrrrrrrrr >.I was really hoping we were done with all this Animus business.

They have been building Adam Sandler up all this time and yet again in the first part of the final conclusion (because it’s likely they’ll do at least 2 or 3 more none numerical sequels before assassins creed is done) He’s going to be taking a back seat again so we can have another obscured history lesson.

I don't really like Desmond but that’s not really so much his fault as it is the studios for not really doing much with him yet. They could easily make him a likeable character by giving him a bit more exposure and depth with a game that focussed on his journey.

And you know, I thought by this point he would say “Screw the animus I nearly lost my mind in there. Nope! I’m good staying off my back and doing some killing myself”

First Assassin's Creed I've been interested in since the first one. I really like the Native American/colonial direction they are taking the series in.

My only concern is that I really don't think a colonial setting will offer the vertical scale that has been part of the series or that was seen in the Crusade or Victorian era. I mean i could picture them setting the game between NY, Boston, and Philly (maybe even Washington), but I don't think any of those cities where developed any where near the vertical scale they offer in the present back in colonial times.

The hero is named Connor/Ratohnhake:ton (pronounced Ra-doon-ha-gay-doo). He's half English and half Mohawk Indian. You will experience Connor's childhood on the frontier. The Mohawk clash with white colonists who burn their village down, causing Connor to dedicate his life to confronting tyranny and injustice. The overall story is still centered around the Assassins versus the Templars and Connor's journey.

The game is set between the years 1753-1783 around Boston and New York. You'll meet George Washington -- one of the game's main characters -- as well as Ben Franklin, who is apparently not a "convenient inventor" like da Vinci in past Assassin's Creed games. Another main character is the mysterious Charles Lee. We don't know anything about him at all.

Here are some of the events we can expect: "You will see the great fire of New York. You will visit Valley Forge as a location that is currently occupied by Washington's forces. You will visit these places in the moment that they were important."

A lot of the actual gameplay centers on The Frontier, a huge area of wilderness that is 1.5 times bigger than all of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. When in the frontier, you'll meet up with all kinds of gameplay elements, including hunting and pelt gathering (shades of Red Dead Redemption), and villages -- Colonial and Native American alike. The wilderness traversal plays a big part in the gameplay in the Frontier. You use trees, cliffs, ledges, and more to set up kills and combat. Connor does have a hidden blade.

Leveling System:

"Imagine a leveling system in an RPG, except there's a finite amount of XP to find. The more in-sync you get, the more you fill your sync bar. Within each mission, each activity you complete has a value". You can replay everything to increase your score.

There is reportedly something resembling the Brotherhood system of picking up fellow assassins. Aligned groups are gone, but something new is replacing them in regards to factions. There's a new notoriety system that is more hidden and doesn't penalize you for exploring risky areas. The game has fast travel because the game has more traveling. It's a huge map.

Multiplayer: No word yet on the multiplayer.

Combat:

The tomahawk and knife are a "constant presence" in battle. They let you do double counters and multiple takedowns, as well as chain kills.

There's no more target locking. Counter/defense are the same button to prevent defensive turtling.

You can use human shields and other context sensitive moves.

There are lots of secondary attacks like the one shot pistol on the Y button.

There's a new dynamic camera to track the action and make it look as cinematic as possible.

There is a new sprinting system also, so you can hold the button to instantly turn around and start fleeing from combat. They also let you kill people while still moving so you can keep chasing a target.

You beat me to it grin

I think this looks very interesting. And it looks like you can climb trees now! Sweet! I just hope they've updated the graphics a little. Not that it matters really, it's just that all of the recent games have looked the same. It wont really bother me if they don't though.

I just wonder how this new assassin ties in with Ezio and Altair, or if he even does at all.
